To walk to the PIR from Navy Lodge would be difficult.  There are no sidewalks and there will be heavy traffic. I suggest driving or taking a taxi.

My mother is coming with me and can't walk very far(heart condition). I was going to print out the access pass to park on base. What are your thoughts on that. Is the Train Station parking very far?

Comment by taysproudmom (HM class 220A) on August 10, 2013 at 7:17pm

You do not want to walkl It is close, but far also, as you will see when you get there. You cannot enter the base from the side the Navy Lodge is on, so you have to go out onto Buckley and down (about 2 miles) to go in where you are allowed. If you could go in from the backside it would be an EASY walk, but as it is, you just cannot walk it.  Use your car and drive-- going into the Ohio gate, and get there early so you can park outside the gate in the Train Station parking.  That worked awesome for us!

How easy is it to walk to PIR from Navy Lodge? We have a rental car, but we're used to walking, it's not that far, and I understand we'll be waiting in traffic anyway. Thanks!

I just called and had my reservation updated with my recruit's name.  Thanks!

Just reading in here, and realized that the reservations I made a couple of weeks ago for 9/5-8 were not made under my recruit's name.  I just made them online and that question was not asked. Is this a problem??

We have a few rooms left.  Please call the Lodge direct as soon as possible.

Comment by beverly on August 7, 2013 at 11:35am

Yes, when your in-laws make their reservation, they should make it using your husband's name.  Anyone attending the graduation should make the reservation using the Recruit's/military member's name.

It is such a pleasure to assist you all any way I can!

Thank you for all the information on this blog.  I just booked our room for the 9/27 PIR.  Can my in-laws also get a room under my husband's name too?

Comment by beverly on August 6, 2013 at 12:03pm

Please give us a call and we will make the correction for you.  Safe travels and see you when you get here!
