For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son left for bootcamp today at Great Lakes.
New to the group. Looking for others that may have kids with my son. Worried, excited & proud, but I am sure all of you know what I am talking about. He is the baby of the family so very hard.... I need to read the files on here to find out all the proper to do & not do's. Just looking for others that may want a friend to chat with that doesn't know much about this.. Thank you very much! ;)

Divisions 325 and 326 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There will later be a discussion within PIR 10/17/2014 TG 49 for the two divisions.

My son got to bootcamp on 08/13 received my phone call that same day about 10pm la time. My box came fed ex yesterday. So now I quess I wait for address and letter. I hope he is doing well and fitting in. I feel very proud but can not help to worry. :)

My son left for Great Lakes August 18th. He is also our baby of three and the last to leave home. I have cried on and off since he left. I didn't realize how much I would miss him! I talked to his recruiter today who was able to give me his mailing address. Hopefully he will get to write on Sunday. I wish you well and hope you hear from your son soon.

Your comment leads me to believe that you received the address from the recruiter. It is best to wait on The Form Letter before sending any letters.

The recruits can only send out one form letter. If you have not received the form letter by 2 weeks after your recruit arrived then you can send letters after checking the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works. You can also send letters once you see that someone with a recruit in that division has received the form letter. If you don't get The Form Letter there is info in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit on how to get the info to fill in the blanks.

My son is starting his 3 week, just got to talk to him this morning (the first since the "I'm here" phone call) I know what you are feeling. This site has made it so much better to talk to others about the anxiety I was feeling. Want to chat? You got it!!
