Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows how much free time there is between bootcamp and A school?
I know sometimes they take them there right away, it could be hours or days after graduation. But Im more interested in the case if he has to wait until there are enough people to start his A school class. Would he be able to come home for that week or however long?

Hi Moz321, unfortunately there is no leave given after boot camp graduation. They do typically get leave after graduation from A school before reporting to their first duty station. If he's not a grad and go, you may get the opportunity to take him off base but he would need to be back by a certain time as long as he doesn't have watch.
Hmm, his recruiter said he might have to wait until a class fills up before starting A school. What would he be doing during that waiting period?
I actually just tlaked to his recruiter to clarify what he meant. He said right after bootcamp, he will be given a day or two (including nights) with the family when we come to visit him. Following, he has to report to his A school. Once there, if they tell him there is a certain amount of days before a class is filled, he has the option of going home.
thanks for the info. and fyi, i wasnt going back and forth on it with you. i was merely reporting what the recruit told me. maybe someone else would find the information helpful, since I HAVE seen posts on this site about people who got to have their recruits stay with them overnight in the hotels after graduation.
