Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I just finished watching the PIR for today 3/7. The current color guard DIV 918 was performing and will be graduating in two weeks. So, I believe Div 922 wil be performing 3/28, 4/4 and of course 4/11. My son did say they would be performing at 3 PIRs. http://www.livestream.com/usnavyrtc. I cant wait :-)

I finally talked to my grandson and he thinks he is carrying the Missouri flag :) .....so proud of him and all the others.....and yes they should be performing 3/28, 4/4 and then their own.....sounds like we are doing and saying all the same things.....I think its catchy lol......I talk to a lot of the moms on Navy PIR Moms and our PIR date FB page and we are all gearing up lol.....are you on those groups by any chance...obviously we use dif names there

Hey ladies,
I got a call from my son :-) He needed phone numbers for his security clearance. He said they were all pulling together. They are on day 3-4. Tomorrow they will be working on Marlinspike (line handling), or how to tie knots and handle the ropes. He sounded excited and said "It should be fun."
He also said that every night a few of the guys have a prayer circle, and more guys are joining in. -

I finally got a chance to read the letter from my son in today's mail, and here are a few things I'd like to share....
He was the MA, but recently lost the position due to plain carelessness. Basically he stopped caring about doing his job (keeping order amongst the division), and said the only way to get the job done was to get a little more aggressive. But he realized there was potential for him to lose control, and risked getting kicked out of the Navy altogether if he had done just that...I'm actually proud that he came to that conclusion himself, being that he would normally lose his temper right off the bat, if he were here at home.
"funny thing" he shared:
"I'm changing into somebody I'm not....over here, I'm folding my clothes everyday like second nature. That's not good! Hahahaha!" lol....I KNEW the Navy would NEVER take away my son's sense of humor! =)
He is much more homesick, and thinks its due to having too much "lounge around" time, where they can take long showers, and write letters, but can't nap, listen to the radio, or eat snacks. He is a "busy-body" here at home, always looking to keep busy, but now the Navy seems to like to teach them the concept of "hurry up and wait" or "hurry up for nothing".
I hope everyone's SR is doing great! We have less than one month til PIR!!!

There are a bunch of ladies on Facebook PIR 4/11 who will be there. They are encouraging everyone to wear "red scarves" so they can easily find each other, and those who are in division 140, have decided on getting gold anchor patches to put on there scarves so they can differentiate those who are in division 140 from the other 4/11 PIR-ers.
I LOVE this idea. The 922 Div should pick something else to wear.
Maybe a single yellow rose bud corsage. Getting a single artificial yellow rose bud at a craft store should be pretty inexpensive.
Any one with any other ideas....? -

Ok I'm so lame... I was thinking "at the meet and greet, if everyone wears red scarves, who cares, almost every lady would have one on." It just hit me "Red scarves at the graduation!!!!" That would stand out! ( even if I'm freezing and keep my coat on). The yellow rosebud would not be seen by our sailors, to small. Honestly, I was thinking yellow rose buds at the meet and greet so we could find each other.
Div 922 ladies are thinking maybe yellow scarves at the Graduation to match Div922. -

I'd like to explain my photo. The Sailor in the middle is my Grandfather. The sailor in the top Left corner is my Dad. The Sailor over my Grandfathers Left shoulder,(on the right side of the page) is my husband. The others are my uncle and two of my cousins.
