My daughter has been in Navy 2 years , now she did not pass the weight requirement.  they taped her and she didnt pass by 2% body fat.  I guess she was supposed to be 33 % and was 35%. They are still going to discharge her.... She was deployed over 170 days, did great work but they made her sign form saying she understood she did not pass..... Mixed emotions here on top of everything she was Undes and didnt have a chance to strike yet.

I hope she gets some benefits .....

She won't get medical or dental insurance, she will get only part of her GI Bill as she wasn't in long enough to get the full amount.  As long as she gets honorable, than she will get either 70 or 80% of the GI Bill to use.

She will also be required to go to a class that gives her information about what benefits she might get.

What benefits do you hope she gets?  If she was over body fat, than yes she will be separated.

Also someone may say she can get severance pay, but that is false as she had to serve at least 6 years to be eligible for that. http://doni.daps.dla.mil/Directives/01000%20Military%20Personnel%20...

Quick question, my son was in the same situation. He was discharged in Feb for not meeting weight after the third try by 10 lbs. He was in for 3 yrs would have been 4 in Oct. I did not see the discharge code but he said it was a general discharge. I did see all of his reviews and evaluations which were excellent and he received many recommendations but just could not keep his weight down. He is now taking college classes but if he ever decides to get in shape and keep his weight down is there any possibility that he could re-enlist? I doubt but was wondering. thanks

He could try, but he will need lots of waivers for being kicked out

he is already kicked out, so he would need waivers to get back in?

Yes, plus he has to do the process all over again..He won't have to go to bootcamp again though, it will be a shortened bootcamp, and depending how long he was out he will either be given new unifroms or he will have to pay to get a new seabag.  If he was given a severance check or disability, he will have to pay all of that back also

My daughter will be weighing in on Friday (her 3rd attempt).  I have a feeling she will not pass, but I'm hoping she will.

She is a Corpsman (and has been in for 3 years).   Will they make her pay anything back?

She's married to another corpsman, so she will get health benefits from him, but I'm really worried about her getting another job.  The job market really is bad right now.

Thanks...

She will only have to pay back something if she got a bonus of some type.

My daughter was at A school and is being separated for adjustment disorder. She was given the papers to sign a week ago. How long will it take before she can come home? Is there anything we can do to speed up the process? She was supposed to come home for Christmas leave and we bought her ticket but now she doesn't know whether they're going to let her leave. Please help!
