Hi guys so i'm new to this site and my boyfriend is in A school here in the GL but i just don't really know what to expect when he leaves A school. Some background info he said he will graduate A school in the summer. He wants to do something with engineering. I just want any additional info!

Which rate/rating?  The schools are different lengths, so you need to ask him specifically.  AECF?

He will get orders while in A school. That could be to a C school, or to his first permanent duty station. Unless he needs to report to C school right away, he would be eligible to take a week to ten days of leave to go home for a visit.  Sometimes they must wait until after C school for that.  Then he goes to his new duty station.  Chances are it will be a ship.

GSM-E

I gave a long answer over on the GF group.

If he is an FC his A school will be 15 weeks followed by C school which is 4 to 8 months depending on what firearm he gets

When you enlist at an OS what exactly is an OS.

Operations Specialist.  They operate the radar systems on ships.

Thanks I couldn't get a straight answer from SR.

My daughters  is currently attending Boot Camp. Her Rate is AECF. From what I understand she will attend A School in GL. She said she will get one of two jobs. she will either be an ET or FC. How long is each of these A School and do both have a C School. If so where is this and for how long?

First she will go ATt, which is nine weeks, them 11 or 13 weeks of A school.  There are almost always hold times waiting to class up, so she may be there for nearly a year.

Neither rating has C school in Great Lakes.  ET C schools vary in length and location so much you can't begin to list them, but San Diego and Norfolk are common.  Mine was 6 months in GA.  FCs have C schools in VA and CA, and depend on which weapons system is taught.

Thank you so much for your answer. What is ATt?
