Hi twonukesons! My son arrived at RTC on march 24. I too am waiting for those things! I called his recruiter, all i was told was that his PIR is 5/22 and that he is in a 900 division.

Hi Mamakweenb!!  I think the 800 and 900 divisions are assigned right away.  Your son must be musically inclined?  We also estimated the 5/22 PIR date. The letter coming any day now should confirm. How are you holding up?

Yes, twonukesons, my son plays guitar, although i am sure there are no guitars in the PIR ceremony, so im guessing maybe drums??!!! Cant wait to talk to him to see exactly what he will be doing. I am doing o.k. funny though how little things will turn the waterworks on. I saw his friend driving down the road the other day, he waved, and i broke into tears. His favorite song came on the radio and again i began to cry. I know it will get better. How are you doing?! I love being a part of navymoms! Strength in numbers you know! ♡

Oh no! I think i may have deleted a comment from mittens7! I must be getting tired! I am so sorry mittens7! I know you said your SR is in an 800 division. How are you doing? Did you get the box yet? I got mine yesterday and of course bawled like a baby! After i was done going through it, i left everything in the box and stuck it in my closet. My husband said i definitely need to wash my son's clothes that were in the box, but im just not ready to yet! I wont erase the caller i.d. either from when he gave us the 40 second im here call! Ugh, i cant help myself! ♡

I didn't get the Box yet! Their letter with the address and their ship and division should arrive next. I'm so glad to have found other moms! Ugh. Miss him so so much.

My daughter arrived the 24th.  I haven't received her Box yet.  Hoping tomorrow.  I will continue to wait patiently here in AZ.

Azmom, I was getting concerned as I heard from another mom that she got the Box Thursday.  Maybe tomorrow for us!

My son left on 3/23 we got his box Friday. We laughed at his clothes because it looked as if he just had to drop everything (pants undies) in one swoop. I know silly but its how we kept from crying. Haha I washed his stuff right away knowing what pieces he wants me to take to him later. Plus I think he told his brother he could have his shoes LOL it did help to wash his stuff one last time since he used to do it himself, I felt like I was actually doing for him. He is in the 800 division. We are waiting on his form letter as well. I can't wait to plan our trip! And also can't wait to get the first call just to hear his voice. This has been the hardest part is not being able to chat or text. Someone told me us militay families have it harder than college parents because we don't have the privilege to just pick up a phone. We have to wait. :0).

Hi S Shortcake!  My son left on 3/23 as well from Albany NY. We got the box on Friday too. It's funny that you mention how your sons clothes looked, my husband and I thought the same thing, his clothes were all bunched up and socks and leg pants were rolled up. We laughed as well ,but I could only imagine what went on. I still haven't washed his clothes yet..lol. I agree with you on the hardest part is not being able to call or text him. We definitely have it harder then college parents, but hopefully time will go fast and before we know it we will be able to hug them and spend some quality time with them at PIR. :)

@JN1615 Ha! These guys/gals will have some stories for sure. He's had two friends go through Marine & Airforce BC and now they are waiting on him LOL. I can't wait to get the PIR date, his uncle called my husband Sunday and wanted to know as well. We are on military time now bahaha keep in touch!

@ S Shortcake - I am hoping the PIR is the 22nd. of May, if my calculations are correct,9 Fridays from the day they leave. I already booked the hotel for those dates - I know I should wait till I get the form letter, but I seen a lot of the hotels book fast, so I didn't want to chance not getting a nice room. My sons GF will be coming along with us,lovely girl, but I kinda wanted to have him all to myself! LOL...ugh...the joys of learning to let go! Anxiously waiting for the form letter and that first phone call. Take care - keep in touch!

Our son's box of things came late last week; the letter with division and ship came today. Planned to wait for husband to be home to open it, but couldn't help myself: PIR is 5/15/15 (which is a week earlier than we expected, so I'm a bit confused... getting used to that feeling though).
