Our SR arrived at BC on Wednesday (02APR14). So does today count as my Friday #1? And it's 8 or 9 Fridays till PIR?

KemMomAPR14 - You can't start counting Friday's until he/she has been put into a Division.  If he/she arrived on Wednesday, chances are they haven't been put into a Division. They are still in P-Days (processing).  Be patient.  :-)

oh yeah, i read that. so much to absorb....thanks much Jitterbug!
Yes P days for now. Hang in there.
Yes,I was told to start counting Fridays starting next week..My son shipped out on April 2nd too...
Tonya from where did your son leave? Is it 8 or 9 fridays.

Hello!

My son arrived 4/2 as well. Just got his box today. Not even a wk yet.

I miss him. Only child and it seems so quiet now. He has wanted to be in any service. Since he was 5 or 6. Im glad he joined the Navy.

CB'sMom.....i hate the quiet. I miss my SR too. He left Tuesday and his older sister left on a mission trip to Haiti last Friday. At least she'll be home soon. The dog is soooo confused. I hope we get his box soon. really wish i could talk to him. Our SR quit college after 2 years to enlist.

My son did community college but didnt finish his degree. Im hoping he can take classes online and finish as well.

You have one Friday down of the 8 (less likely since your SR arrived on a Wednesday), 9 (most likely) or 10 Fridays (possible). See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April to connect with others with loved ones who arrived the same day and may have PIR together.

Ok Navy mom's, son left on March 25 and still no official letter. Should I be concerned?

It can sometimes take awhile and sometimes a recruit will be in Medical or in an interview when the letters are sent out and they forget to have him send it. Since it has been 2 full weeks since he arrived at the RTC, it is fine to call the recruiter and get the address. Be sure to check it against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works. There is info in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit on how to get the info you need if you don't get The Form Letter.
