For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Traveling with a Newborn
Has anyone traveled by plane with an 1 month old during the winter? If so what would be some tips? My family is giving me a hard time about traveling with my newborn to my husband's PIR next week. My husband hasn't seen the baby and it is our first child. I plan on leaving the baby with my mom at the hotel and bringing my husband back to the room. We are from the south and I understand that Chicago weather is colder than our cold, but my husband has already missed the birth and his first month of life and is looking forward to spending time with his son next week.

Thank you! I talked to my husband last night and I told him it was his decision and he said he wanted the baby there so that's just what we are going to do!

I must say all the ladies who have answered are SPOT ON!!!
Layering is the key word and remember you can always take off . My grandmother use to say "it's better to have on to many layers than not have enough!" If you can find a wrap to keep the baby close and covered so no one can touch him ...definitely do that. Dont be afraid to tell anyone NOT TO TOUCH :-)
As the baby going..... You should ABSOLUTELY take him to meet his dad. Missing the birth and the first months are thing s he will only see due to pictures or video, but now he will be able to touch, hold, kiss, hugs , sing and do all the things fathers do for a short time but such a precious bonding time.

Lots of blanket layers. That way you can remove and add as needed.
You should be just fine! Of course you want Dad to see his son!!!
I'd take my newborn with me, too, if I was in your shoes but I'm a rebel. :)

Everything went well! I ended up leaving the baby with my mom at the hotel and just taking my husband back to the room after PIR. My husband said he was glad I decided to keep him in because it was so many people there!!!! Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words!!!
