Sounds like you son and mine are on same time frame. He graduated A school June last year and came home on leave followed be leaving a week early to return to Norfolk and his ship that was deploying. He did not go to C school, it is my impression the wait there is not long. My sons recruiter told him to not do c school as he would learn what they learn there on the job anyway.
Graduation is not well attended but he did get photos. Mine got to fill out the dream sheet as he finished third in his class. The top three get to do this sometimes. He got his second choice.
He has been home from deployment since January back to Norfolk Feb. he has been in classes. So the training is continual throughout. He took classes on board during deployment also.

CO-TwinSailorsMom.. Thanks for the opportunity to ask questions.  My son is still in IT A School and will follow up with C school in Pensacola, as well.  Just a couple questions... Is there any typical time gap between A and C?  Did anyone in your son's group get to choose their first stop after school?  Is there any area that the majority get sent to after school?  He's enjoying school so far and tests for 2nd certification this week.  A graduation scheduled for last week of June, so lots of time and learning to go.  Did your son talk about any specific area or certification that was much harder than the rest?  Did you go to graduation or is it not that big of an event?  Guess that's it for now.  Thanks again...

Hi guys, my son is at RTC right now. Was supposed to PIR this Friday however he got stress fractures in his feet and knees. He is in RCU recovering. We are praying that he can heal quickly and graduate so he can get to Pensacola;) He is IT with a 6 yr contract. Does anyone know if he will have A and C school there in Pensacola? And where he might go after C school?

I hear that the dream sheet comes and goes. Maybe a need of the navy thing, when they have more need the dream sheet comes back.

I invited another IT mom I know who has a sailor daughter to join on here for another perspective from someone she had a sailor go through and out onto IT things.

Hi BoomMom.  My son did indicate it is difficult in the sense they are covering so much info in such a short period of time.  Several chapters of info and tests each day.  He is older and has his college degree (4.0 GPA) -- so getting a B on a test didn't make him happy.  ha ha  C Schools are all at Corry too (from what I've heard).  From what my son has indicated -- dream sheets and being able to pick orders (even if you finish top of the class) are currently a thing of the past. I hope your son likes his stay in Pensacola.

I don't know, you could research it. I did get my son a challenge coin.
