Karla, that is terrible. I feel for your son, Now he's wondering who could have done that.
Comment by Mark's wife on January 29, 2011 at 6:57pm
Karl- I can't believe someone would do that. The ship isn't very big. It would be hard to keep that a secret. Ignorance!

I spoke with my sailor last night, someone stole his cell phone. He said it was hooked to the charger under his pillow because he uses it as an alarm clock, he went to shower and when he came back it was gone. I just cannot understand stealing from your shipmate. The loss of the phone is no big deal because it was a very basic model but all his contacts especially all the navy friends he has met along the way are gone. Some people are such jerks!

A Sailor's mom...please tell your son THANK YOU for serving his country. I hope someday he has children, so they can be as proud of him as we are! Thank you to all who serve....and those who love them!

Prayers and thoughts to the Cruz family as they try to deal with this horrible loss. It has touched the entire fleet but we will never forget her and thank the family for her service. My daughter is an OS on the Decatur and it really hit home with her and us. May God give them strength to get thru this.

Thanks for sharing Karen.  I had prayers said at church for her family today.  My Sailor is an OS on the Stockdale.

Please pray for the Cruz family and the whole Navy family as we grieve the loss of our brave sailor;

This week the Lincoln Strike Group family lost a shipmate to the perilous depths of the sea. A leader, a friend, a patriot, a hero. OS2 Cruz has gone to a far, far better rest than she has ever known, and today all Lincoln warriors fight in her name. LCDR Marks, Lincoln Strike Group PAO (SM)

Rockford is 15 miles north of Grand Rapids.  It's where they make Hush Puppy shoes.
