Hello everyone,

My husband is In basic right now, and upon graduation he is going to be on the eod pipeline. now I know he has 3 weeks pre prep where he will stay in IL, then 9 weeks of dive school. I am going to school in the area for his longest duration of training of 43 weeks in florida. Does anyone know what I should expect as far as living situations. I'm probably going to have to move down before him because my schooling begins January 1st and he will still be in dive school at this time. Will his orders for c school most likely be accompanied because it is over 6 months ? Or will he have to put in a request. Any knowledge is helpful, thank you!

I moved here before my husband and they ended up not paying for our move because I did that which sucks. He will have to have his orders stating that he's going to Pensacola first and he will have to do this thing where they counsel him on how to move your family down properly and then they will arrange movers. Aside from moving expenses however you will most definitely receive BAH. You should start recieving it I believe in the middle or end of his bootcamp. But sometimes you have to be persistent and talk to the office about things so after bootcamp in Great Lakes he can talk to the office about BAH as well as BAS if you're not already recieving it. BAS he will have to talk to them about for sure though. Are you planning on trying to live on base or off? I am also starting school in January at Pensacola State College, but my husband and I live off base at an apartment. :) if you have any more questions let me know!
I'm probably going to have to do the same. I know my husband will be really busy up until he comes here and I can't wait for his orders unfortunately, unless his orders to pensacola are included with his dive school. We're you married while he was in boot? I'm probably going to do off base, mostly because I hear the waiting list for eglin afb is rather long and I need to be there and settled by January 1st. Good lucky with your schooling!

If the school is over 20 weeks long, and it is written into his orders that a dependents move is authorized, then you do get a paid move.  Depends on how the orders are written, and no, they usually don't make changes.  If you move beforehand, they may not pay for it.
