Hello Everyone!

First off I just wanted to say thank you for all being so welcoming and inviting. I just signed up on this website a few days ago and it's already been such a huge help. I also apologize ahead of time for anything I say incorrectly, I'm very new to this and I'm still trying to learn all the Navy lingo! lol

My boyfriend is currently stationed at Pearl Harbor and is on the USS Jacksonville. He and I met back in September, and right off the bat we both knew it was meant to be. I didn't have any idea that he was in the navy until our 4th date together! So when I found out that he was leaving a month after we met, I was devastated. I may be young, but when you know, you know. I haven't seen him since October 18th, and I want to go visit him this summer.

He wants me to come visit him in June or July, and I don't care when, but I need to go. The only problem is that I am an extremely broke college student. I have found several websites offering discounts to military girlfriends (easymilitarytravel.com) and I was just wondering if anyone has tried using these sites before, are they safe and legit, and if not can you please help me with some advice? I really need to see Chris, and I feel so lost without him by my side. It would mean the world to me if someone could help me out.

It's ironic because my major in school is travel and tourism, and they will teach you anything and everything except for military related trips haha.

Thank you for your help!

I really appreciate it! Thank you!!
And I don't think you're being a debbie downer lol, cause it's just the honest truth, and I would rather hear that than some BS. You are great and I appreciate your help (:

If you go on priceline.com you can use the name your own price tool for flights. You won't know what time you'll leave or which airline but you can at least pick a date. That will save you a bit of money depending on how good of a deal you can get. When I do hotels with them I always low ball it first then work my way up. Fellow broke college student here!

I've also used militaryfares.com and to be honest I will never use them again. I've used them 3 times and their flights are actually more expensive because the fare is the same as if you were buying it softest ly from the airline, and then try tack on a service fee. The only reason I used them is for their no questions asked insurance policy but their customer service is awful. Two out of the 3 times I've needed to change my flights due to my husband's deployment leave date getting changed then his homecoming date getting changed and even though I purchased this awesome no questions asked insurance policy that is supposed to allow me to change my flights for any reasons they gave me the run around both times and ended up not being able to help me so I ended up going to the airline directly. I wouldn't count on any "'military" sites - like everyone else said check out Priceline, kayak and those types of sites. Also airfarewatchdog.com you can set up email alerts as well when low fares. And as EmCHammer said it's going to be expensive no matter what so I would just prepare yourself for that.
