I know how you feel! Although my boyfriend and I had only been together a year or so but we spent every second together. He left for basic in June but I had already left to teach English in China for 5 months. I had left in February and was 13 hours ahead of him so it was very hard to find a good time to talk. Once he left for basic I kept writing letters as if I was having a conversation with him (because I know how he would respond lol) so that kept me happy while I couldn't talk to him. Now that he's in A school and we're able to talk almost everyday, while it took some adjusting to get used to it I know that I personally couldn't be happier with our relationship. He's very stressed with his schooling and do i try to give him his space but I still send my conversational letters and because I'm an artist, I send little note card size paintings to him every week that he always pins on his board on his desk. I don't know how you might go around doing this but I know that after not seeing him for 5 months... I was SO excited to see him at graduation. Well, if you need any other support, feel free to friend and message me!

Aw thank you! I do the same exact thing when I write him letters...I feel like I'm talking to him! glad I'm not the only one lol:) I'm crossing my fingers I will be able to afford going to his graduation! I'm already counting down the days.

Don't worry girl! You'll probably get a letter this upcoming week, Thursday's usually. The calls will come soon also just try to stay busy during the week and I promise time will fly! Once you get the info on his graduation they'll probably be a PIR group to join and you'll be able to connect with loved ones who have sailors there too :),

thank you so much :) i found out his PIR and joined the group

My best advice is to stay positive and just know that he is missing you so much more. My boyfriend of 5 years left for bootcamp 9/21 and i just received a letter last week. I couldn't help but be positive after finally getting his letter because all he kept saying is how much he missed me. I write him a letter everyday letting him know how i'm doing and when i got a call from him yesterday he sounded so happy and overjoyed. I cried. He said that he really enjoys reading my letters everyday and asked if i could keep sending a letter everyday until i came home because it really helps get him through the tough days. My advice is to stay positive and just write letters to past the time. It helped me and i'm sure it could help you also.

He got to call you on a Saturday? What time of the day was it? Sorry so many questions. My boyfriend left on 10/6 and if it goes the same amount of time before they get a call that Saturday I'll be on a plane and I absolutely don't want to miss it!

I have been sending him letters every day and I still haven't gotten a call or letter yet....he left on 9/24 but it feels like forever ago because I have no clue if he hates it or loves it over there. I'm just crossing my fingers he doesn't call during the time I'm in school because then I'll be devastated.
