Hi! I don't personally know the great neighborhoods or the best place to live, but I would LOVE to refer you to a fabulous real estate agent in Norfolk if you are interested.
They specialize in military moves and are very knowledgeable about the area!
Give me a call- 858.480.5454 Im here for you!
NewWife, how long has your husband been in the military? How did you guys get your orders for your first duty station?
He will be finishing A school by the beginning of December. He called and told me he got his orders yesterday. I am not sure how
When did he graduate and start A-school if you don't mind me asking? What's his job title?
He started in September and I'm not sure what exactly but it's aviation
Hey NewWife1, we just moved to Norfolk in October. We live in Military housing though so I'm not to sure on the neighborhoods. There is a Facebook page for spouses of Norfolk Naval Station too.

Hey there. I also moved to Norfolk with my husband recently and we searched for a long time before finding somewhere we really liked.  We are currently living in the east beach community which is on the very edge of Norfolk, almost to Virginia Beach.  We absolutely love it.  It's such a safe neighborhood, which is a big concern for us wives when our husbands are away.  We also have beach access, a pool, a gym, and everyone in the neighborhood is so friendly.  We rent a small place in the community so Im not sure on pricing for housing, but the houses here are huge so Im sure theyre a little on the pricey side.  But hope that helps! You should definitely look into it! Good luck!

Hey! I was born and raised in Norfolk and currently still live here. If you guys want to stay close to base I recommend looking into Ghent, Larchmont, Colonial Place and East Beach. I currently live in colonial place. Beautiful area!
