My husband left for boot camp about a week-and-a-half ago. Today I received the graduation letter. He is set to graduate on the first Friday of May. I also know that he is going to go to "A" school there at Great Lakes. Will I have the whole weekend to spend with him?

After PIR, you will have a short time with him, then he must go check into A school.  That takes a few hours, but he will have the evening with you.  He should have all day Saturday and Sunday too, but no overnights.

Thank you Anti M. Also, it says in the pamphlet not to bring them cell phones or electronics. Is that the case? It wasn't clear if they could not have them at all or just not that day. I guess what I'm asking is if I can give him his cell phone and lap top like on Sunday?

Also, what should I wear?

One more question: I know I should expect 2 more calls: 1 in a week or so and 1 more just before graduation. Are these call always on a Sunday or should I expect a call at any time?

Expect it at any time, although they don't do battlestations on the weekend as far as I know, so the I'm a sailor call would be on a weekday.

after graduation he will be gone for a couple of hours then you will be able to spend the day with him. My Fiance just graduated on friday  he still had to sleep on base and couldn't leave the building he was in after 22:00 (10:00) but since he had his phone and laptop back he was happy.

that reminds me of another question: It says in the paperwork that I was sent, not to give the graduates any laptops or cell phones because they can't have them. My husband asked me to brink his. Will he be able to keep them or just use them while he is off?

Also, thanks for the the responses. I will definitely get by travel booked real soon.

The ones staying at RTC then flying out have to have theirs handed over at the airport (this may be changing soon, stand by).  However A school in Great Lakes has different rules, once your sailor has checked into TSC , he can take his electronics back to the barracks that night.  Bring his cellphone and laptop or tablet.  Nothing larger until he knows the barracks policy and how may others share his room.  They do not always have permission to leave larger items out such as TVs, game consoles or desktops.

Thanks
