I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

I believe that's the rule for the whole GL base. My husband has been on 4 ships there over the last year and that was always the case. :)

On his last ship 3 BZ's would get him the duty day off - well hopefully he is able to clarify and it ends up being the same Liberty as the last ship.

3 BZs earns you a duty day off. So I think whoever told him was confused. If he gets 3, he can have extra time off to spend with family. Phase 3 doesn't require a liberty buddy, and can do overnights. Even if he's been phased down, he can use a liberty buddy deviation chit to get around it.

My husband is in A school in GL, he recently moved to a new ship; here they told him he needs 3 BZ's to get off base with family (since is a deviation from the 2-buddy policy). He is at stage 3 liberty so I was surprised by this however maybe they were referring to parents/siblings? and not spouses.
Either way he said he should still be able to get this waived. Just wondering if others encountered this? Thanks

Because you are both active duty and just starting out, marrying during her school is much less of an issue.  Marry when you can, even if it is when one of you is on leave after completing school.  If she is in P-cola long enough, she'll have leave over the holidays.  Marry then, she won't meed a chit.

We married in Vegas when we were both on leave, we both already had orders, but we didn't know when we'd see each other again.  We were E-6, same rating, nearly identical NECs.  Made it more difficult, because we were competing for the same billets.  You will never have that problem!

That is very true there aren't many air bases around where we get stationed but we both are from San Diego and there is both bases there hopefully in time we will be there together.im just hoping we can get married before one of us is finished with a school that is what is worrying me I hope it works out that we can make it happen while she is still in a school unless she is finished before me I believe when there is a will there is a way just not sure how it's all going to play out

I wish you all the best.  It can work out, although I know very little about seabee bases... but it seems as if there are often air bases nearby.

Thank you so much for the info I know interior be a hard road and we are prepared to be apart for even longer but always hopeful that we can be together I'm in the Seabees so there isn't to many places for me in the states. I'm thinking I will be done with school before her I've talked to a few people in rates that she could potentially be in and they are on hold for a few months. My school is over in May. My goal is once I'm finished with school and take my leave to go directlally to Pensacola for a few days and tie the knot. Then either travel back home and do my RAP duty or go straight to my base

When she knows her rating, and knows how long her school is, you can begin planning the timeline.

Because you are both active duty, things are a little more complicated.  The distance is definitely outside any liberty limit, so I am assuming you'll try for leave or an out of bounds chit.  Training commands tend to care about such things.

When she gets to A school, she will put in a special request chit asking to marry.  She will need to go to a class or to the chaplain.  Then when you get there, you just go to the county clerk for the license, and you can find what you need to do online.  Just google the county clerk for Pensacola.

Getting married while she is in school is much more of a concern for dependent spouses than for active duty.  First term sailors coming out of A school are NOT eligible for spouse co-location.  You can both put in the form/request, but the instruction specifically says your training dictates that needs of the Navy take precedence directly after school.  Best you can do is hope the detailers are feeling generous.  I was half of a mil to mil couple, and it is a hard road.  Not saying that to dissuade you, but be aware this is going to take a lot of dedication, trust, communication, and potentially a few years apart.  It can be done, I'm near my 29th anniversary, but I want you to understand your challenges.  My "due time" was most of a year apart engaged, then two years apart after we married.  Even then, I had to separate instead of re-enlisting after a year and a half together.

I have a question? I'm currently at Sheppard Afb for Ce a school and my fiancé is going to graduate boot next Friday. Then she will go to Pensacola im not sure for how long yet because her rate is AV and she could be 1 of 3 rates. My question is should I go to Pensacola after my a school so we can tie the knot does anyone know how that all works I want to get married before she graduates a school so hopefully in due time we can be together somewhere
