I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

If me and my boyfriend were to get married during his FRAC, would he be able to eventually live off of base with me?

Comment by Elizabeth on December 9, 2015 at 12:37pm
All of the stuff in it that he needed is not in there, so he kept that there somewhere
Comment by Anti M on December 9, 2015 at 9:50am

My guess on the wallet is he got confused during the in processing stress and chaos.  Or maybe he had a newer RDC who isn't up on the rules.  It happens.

Everything has to fit in a sock, or they can't keep it.  If he had stuff he needed in it, did that come back too?  You can mail stamps and calling cards and such if he needs those.

@Elizabeth my sailor graduates friday!

Yes, I'm not sure why he didn't get to keep it, I guess I will find out later on! I'm having better days now then when he first left, I'm on day 6 no communication and day 7 since he left. I'm just focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel (pir!) does anyone have recruits at boot camp right now too, or did you all make it through this already?

I got his box today. It was bitter sweet opening it. The dog ran over all happy, wagging her tail and sniffing his clothes. That made me cry, she misses him almost as much as I do! I turned his phone on and saw that he didn't even get to read my last message or keep the note I wrote him in his wallet (he had to send his wallet home, it's wasn't black.) I just can't wait to send my letters!

Thank you! I have been writing letters like crazy, every time I want to text or call him, I write it in the notes section of my phone and then write that letter using all of that! I just hate not knowing what he is doing or how he is doing. Once I get the first letter from him I'm sure I will feel a lot better. I just want to know when I can expect his address and "the box" to come. I've read 3-5 days for the box, then like a week after that for the form letter.
Comment by ProudNavyGirlfriend 7.14 on December 7, 2015 at 8:13pm

Elizabeth, write him a letter everyday!!! It helps A LOT! Being completely honest, the first 2 weeks are pretty miserable, but after that I noticed it got easier. Make a countdown for his graduation, the excitement for that really helps. He should be able to send out letters next week and you should get them within 4 days, depending on where you live. I got letters every Thursday and looked forward to it so much! Seeing posts on this site and all the information they give about bootcamp and the navy in general is such a big help!
