if i move with my husband after BESS do we qualify to deduct our moving experiences since we were married after he got his orders at RTC to go to BESS and his A-School? yes i know that since we were married after he got his orders the government will Not pay to move me to him but can we fill out the 3903 form for tax deductions?

My husband has been in for 3 months and we have yet to see a check close to anything else. They've been all different. I'm a very budgeted person and it sucks buy you just take it for what it is. They've typed our zip code wrong from te beginning and we've requested it be changed and they still haven't and say it's not there problem... It is! My point is that it's going to be different and good luck! Lol

K all makes sense. I just started seeing the print outs, had to request them from him. He has no idea what we have to pay so has no sense of $$, lol. The break down of our check from today isn't viewable yet so that's why I have all the questions. Our checks have been so different because of back pay so I was super surprised when our check on the first was way less than what I expected, and this one was about $600 more. I think ill just plan to get the same we got the first of this month just to be safe.

Disclaimer: I wrote this all without reading every previous comment in its entirety, and also without looking at an LES since my husband got home from deployment.

This may be obvious info, but I want to make sure you're understanding this about how the Navy pays people. There's a base pay amount that everyone who is the same rank and has been in the navy the same amount of time makes. Then there's all the extra stuff, the housing (BAH), the food allowance (300ish), the separation pay (250ish), special pay, combat pay, the list goes on and on. Each month everts sailor has a LES... like a paystub. On the LES they add everything up in one column.. it lists what the pay is and what the amount is. In the next column, they subtract taxes and any sort of allotments you have set up... like if you have it set up to automatically take your car payment out of your paycheck, it'll do that and send it to the car company instead of your bank account, or like my husband has an allotment to his parents for a student loan so we never see that 300 dollars a month. In this part they usually also take about half of the first column and mark it like 15 pay or something similar which means that that's your paycheck for the 15th. Whatever's left is your paycheck for the 1st, and that half they took out is your paycheck for the 15th. So whatever you got on the first of the month should be similar to what you get on the 15th, but it can vary if there was any allotments taken out or something similar. 
So yes, generally, you can expect your checks to be about the same amount. Ours on the 15th is usually a bit higher.

So we got paid correctly this check but our check from the 1st just had base pay. Just to clarify, and beat a dead horse, our checks should be the same amount. So I can expect what we just got on the 1st?
