I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

The military gyms around here as far as I know only offer the family room. I am in the area but up in Hampton. There are a lot of spouses around here that offer babysitting services so you might be able to find someone that has some spots available. There is a facebook page called spouses of Norfolk naval station you can try asking there.

Comment by J's Wife on December 30, 2013 at 11:39am

Hey ladies! Does anyone know if any of the military gyms around Norfolk have childcare? I've pretty much called down the list and have only found one that has a room where you can use a treadmill while your child plays next to you. I love yoga and haven't been able to go to any classes since we've moved. Drop in care is way harder to get into here and I would really love a gym where I could just take our daughter (she's 5 and self sufficient with her leappad), but it would be awesome to be able to take advantage of the free classes the military offers. At this point I might have to just find a gym buddy with a kid and watch each others while we work out. lol Thanks in advance!

The holidays can delay things too, the weather and the mail have been crazy, so many factors!

Anti M TY he left 12/12 we just passed 3 fridays and he is in a push division  so i will be on the look out  :0)

Comment by Anti M on December 29, 2013 at 1:20pm

Roughly three weeks from the day he left.  Depends on how many in processing days he had, and there's no way to tell that.

gm ladies... question   hubby left for bc on 12/12  when should i get packet or info in getting my id and DEERS stuff??  Thanks

Oh and I agree mitary in General is VERY frustrating. Be prepared never to know anything until very last minute. It's all about hurry up and wait. You'll learn no news is good news and ANYTHING can change in an instant.

My husband is a nuke as we'll and we got here December 7th. I know the worried feeling but everything is fine. :) they don't allow them to send letters until Sunday usually of the 4th week. You'll only get letters once a week because he can only send them once a week. I however sent 2 a day! Lol good luck and of you need anything about nuke school let me know.
Comment by Stephanie C on December 28, 2013 at 2:38am

Tiffany - No problem! :) my husband has only been in SC for a month and the Navy can be frustrating, but I can already tell it will be worth it!

Comment by Stephanie C on December 28, 2013 at 2:27am

Tiffany - Yepp! My husband was in band in high school and they asked if anyone has played before and they would be assigned to a 900 DIV. The RDC's in charge will decide when they allow the recruits to call, but mine was usually able to call on Sundays here and there, but that can vary... All of this can vary from division to division and I know its stressful, but I'm sure everything will be fine. :)
