Does anyone know how sailors accumulate leave time?  Is it so many hours per week, per month, etc?  My son went to boot camp in March and to BESS in May.   I'm trying to figure out if he'll have enough leave time built up at Christmas to come home for a week.  Thank you and have a great day!!!

Val-ACD, My son is in the Archerfish class too, so they must be together, but my son has a long way to go before he gets assigned to a sub.  When did your son graduate from boot camp?  We are planning to go to Groton for BESS graduation.

ProudMama - He has been there in BESS since 7/30/11.  He already completed his A school (CS at Fort Lee)    before getting to Groton so he is awaiting orders to which base and sub he will be stationed with.  He hopes to stay in Groton.    His class is the Archerfish.       We won't make it back to CT on 10/7 as we were just up there Labor Day weekend.  Hopefully his grandparents will be able to attend.  As long as he is stationed in Groton or Norfolk we'll still be able to see him.  If it is San Diego.....

Val-ACD, How long has your son been at Groton. What is the name of your son's class.   My son has been there since 7/30/11.  He has 2 more schools there before his A school which is there in Groton also.  What are the orders your son is waiting for?

lynnvikings.....Have a safe trip!!!!

Diana.....like other mom mention they put 3 in a room. They have one little fridge for all of them.  My son said he was lucky that the other 2 roommates didn't use it so he put his water, milk....they have a microwave that the majority of time they are so old that don't work properly.  My son have little snacks just in case. I know because my son already went through 3 rooms.  Also they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The best one my son said is breakfast.  Really is like going to college, but even better because they have everything for them.  Theather, bowling alley, pool....

Getting ready to receive my son tomorrow evening, coming home for 14 days, yay!!!!
