I am going to try to post the link to the newscenter in CT that my friend Kristen is a newscaster for. I keep this up and running so I can keep track of what is going on. They are saying that by 11 they should be getting the worst of the storm. It looks like it posted...I know power was in and out and I haven't seen any more fb posts from the sailors I know in a while. Will keep in touch!

Yay Twin Falls Mom! So glad your sailor is home!!!!!!!

I talked to my son too and they can't leave Groton. He was staying tonight with a buddy in off-base military housing...not sure how I feel about that because since I've been on base I know that the barracks are up on a hill and not sure where this other sailor lives...ugh! All any of us can do is pray and turn them over to the Good Lord!

My son was able to leave base this morning to start his leave.  He made it to Idaho this afternoon.  I heard the lockdown starts Sunday.  I'm so happy to have him home.  Missed him so much.  BTW, went to Red Robin for lunch and they surprised us with half off our meal ticket as a thank you for his service to our country.  :)  Airport also allowed him through the "fast" lane in security because he was running late.  How cool is that?  Of course, I have to say....some things never change.  lol

Hey...Groton moms... I finally heard from my sailor. I was getting worried! Sounds like they're not expecting the storm to hit until later tonight. They're supposed to go to Jay Leno's show tonight, but will possibly be on lock-down...status currently unknown. He said all the sand-bag chucking was far worse than any PT at boot camp. :-)

Twin falls...it sounds like he had to put in for Leave...maybe that is different than those who are just on Liberty...I'm sure if you haven't heard any differently then his plans haven't changed! Prayers that you get your visit!!!!!!

My son is supposed to be getting on an airplane tomorrow morning to come home for a much, overdue visit.  He didn't say anything earlier about a lockdown?  I'm NEVER going to sleep tonight.

I talked to my son today...he was supposed to drive home tomorrow ( we only live a few hours away) but he said they are basically in lock down. No one is allowed to leave the base. They will not have classes on Monday because they are anticipating the need to have everyone help with the local clean up efforts. Right now it seems that the storm is not gaining intensity...yay! Praying that it will weaken even more as it comes up the coast! Praying for all our boys out there!

My son is leaving base tomorrow to go to above Albany, NY for his brother's wedding!  He is suppose to be on base Sunday night.  He has phone numbers to call the base just in case!
