I found out a few days ago by one of my neighbors (we live in the boonies, so what we call neighbors are at least 10 acres away from us)...that the agents came to their houses, but never told them what it was about. A few of them (ones we dont know that well) thought that my son was under investigation for a crime.. i was pretty upset about that; i felt bad for my son, like he was getting a bad rap/rep...lol I hope its getting cleared up through the 'grapevine'...lol

So far they've only interviewed/made appointments with 3 people, that we know of. I haven't heard anything from them yet, neither has my husband. Do they always interview spouses or is it possible they might skip over me?

I think i forgot to mention on this group that my son FINALLY had his interview with the FBI. he was SO nervous. They never interviewed us (parents), but they did come to our hometown and interviewed just about everyone else. They went to his High School to talk to his teachers, they talked to his GF and her family, his best friends (even asked one of them to meet them at our little gas station in town because he was at work) and then they interviewed all of our neighbors and our family friends. I thought that it seemed like a lot (????). Anybody else have them come to your town and talk to this many people? He still hasnt gotten word as to wether he was issued his clearance. How long does that take? I wonder if they tell him, or if he doesnt hear anything, then he should just assume he received it?

is there a website for the Navy Gateway Inn at Groton?

Angie-when I visited my husband in March, I stayed at the Navy Gateway because it's on base. It's nice and cheaper than the Navy Lodge.  It was nice because when my husband was done with class daily, he'd just walk to the hotel.

Becky--not sure if all graduations are on fridays. Usually they are, but sometimes this may change do to holidays or activities on base. You know how the NAVY works...lol The best source of info will be your Sailor.

Lynn-your welcome..:) My son graduated BESS in April, and thats the last time i saw him. Its such a bid transition from BC. Its almost as if they are away at College, so it will all be good. I was financially strapped after the tipr to PIR, but was determined to see him after BESS. His GF and i stayed at the Super 8. It was VERY cheap and after we arrived...the rooms spoke for themselves. But actually the beds were comfortable, and really...thats all we needed, someplace to sleep and shower. Also..it was about 3 minutes from the base.

cjasmin---you sound like my sons GF..lol! She keeps making trips up there to be with Max, and her parents worry. Its a 9 hour drive from here (PA), so she usually takes a friend. The last trip she took (this past weekend) ..she didnt return home until 4:00 in the morning, she said she didnt want to leave him..:))
