This is a 2 groups in 1, We will be doing the USS Boxer which has  1093 Navy Personel on it and the 13th MEU/ Marine Unit  which has 1175. They work together and are currently on Deployment.  The Boxer is an Amphibious Assualt Ship that takes and trains with the Marines. We have included the USS Harpers Ferry and the USS New Orleans, they too have part of the 13th MEU attached to their ships.

We have a TENTATIVE schedual of the middle of September. We will be doing this in Waves like the other large projects that we have done.

Please email both Sue and myself with your willingness to help so we know how many we have. With Sue working I ask you add me to so I can keep the PC's moving while she is at Work..

Hello my name is Shana...My son is on the USS Boxer serving as a GSE. I am willing to help out with any project there is for the Boxer and any other project that needs people.

Hi Shana, that is wonderful.

We didn't realize that you had some made.  Do I have your email address?  I ask for that because I email the addresses.

please pm that to me.

Hi--I'm friends with a dad who's son is on this ship--yeah!--probably more--let me check and I'll get back with numbers...

Oh and here is the story of this ship:
In Jan, I walked into my church sanctuary and who do I spy???  Well, a handsome young man in dress blues!  Of course, I dashed right over,
shook his hand, then a hug and proceeded to "pepper" him with my many questions.  He had the Boxer on his uniform and a "crow", so I even
knew his rank.  He told me that the ship carries about 3,000 and they would probably be going out in the fall.
I told him about HAE, did he think his CO would allow etc.  He said yes.  When I got home, I emailed Maryellen about this ship and she has been working on the contact since.

In July, I was watching Fox news and saw a clip about a Marine unit in Afghanistan.  I thought, we need to do another Marine unit and researched
that particular unit.  They were based out of Camp Pendleton.  After several calls, I got a nice young man to help me.  He wasn't able to give me
info on that unit (never did track them down), but he told me about a Marine unit that would be going out soon on a ship.  And he explained it to me.  Turns out he had been in that unit himself.    I followed up as long as I could until school started and I asked Maryellen to continue.  And it
turns out that the 13th MEU (marine expeditionary unit) was deploying on the Boxer!!!!   How cool is that?

I am very thankful that Maryellen is able to stick with some of these 1st contacts, cause it just takes time.  Which I don't have alot of extra once
school has started again.

And as Paul Harvey would say, that's the rest of the story.  And if you have told me or posted it online in the last day, you don't need to respond
again.

Hi--USS Harper's Ferry deployed with USS Boxer--a navy for moms administrator has a sailor on it...

Have her contact me at mepeller@bellsouth.net, been trying to find out the other 2 ships that went with them.

Thanks got the email
