Hello everyone, so i am a rookie in this military lifestyle and recently married to a navy man. I am a little confused with how everything is going to turn out and would love for some advice and help. My husband is currently in A school and just was notified his temp orders since they will not be official and set in stone until closer to graduation in May. He told me that he will be doing the fleet Marine Corps and that he will be stationed in 29palms California. However, i wanted to know if while he was in the Marine bootcamp for 8 week if i would be able to move where he is and if the military will cover the expenses. Also if it is even worth moving so soon and if i should just wait until after he completes FMF because he may be stationed else where? I only ask because i need to start looking into other jobs so i can transfer from my current job to another facility. Please help a sista out anyone with any information thank you :)

Dear froggy, I can't believe they changed it so many times that's crazy! And my husband wants C school so he can gain more credits towards his bachelors and work in a hospital. I am trying to find 29 palms people here but there are no groups or luck with that yet. I just hope everything changes for a better location. Thank you froggy for all your help and information :)
Hey Kathy, thank you for response because I wanted to know information from someone who has been there in this case your son. Does he enjoy it there? I'm scared because of the research I've done it looks like there is nothing to do. :/ imagine im a city girl from miami so throwing me in a desert frightens me. I have been to the outdoors but never that isolated so that's my biggest fear. Also were your sons preorders the same as to what his orders became or did they change?
I looked up the parks near by and it looks really nice. I am going to be more positive and wish for the best and driving to San diego is always a perk :) I just hope my husband can come home for a little before he leaves to FMBT thank you so much for your help and tips in what to do :)

Do they usually get to come home after A school on leave?

Does anyone know if after A school our sailor will be able to return home before FMBT?
Dear Kathy if they cannot report home then will they stay in Texas or send them to work on the training base until a FMBT class is available?

Thank you so much Kathy i am trying to understand the class schedule but i am having some difficulty. His graduation date from A school is May 13 so when is he suppose to start the FMBT? sorry to be annoying

he will be training to be a corpsman

Kathy you are heaven sent with all your details!! He is most likely training in the west and told me his job would be working in the hospital. So from what I understood was that from the time of May (his graduation) to the time he starts class (July) they will most likely have him work on base in CP in the hospital until he can officially start FMBT right? I feel relieved knowing now more or less a tkme frame so I can mentally prepare myself with work and all.
Also Kathy I found the dates for FMBT in camp lejeune North Carolina which starts May 25 do you think it matters which training they send them to? Like if he has preorders to 29 palms you think there's a chance they send him to camp lejeune for training because the opening is sooner than in Cali?
Oh boy then all i can do is wait and hope for the best! Crossings fingers that he gets the training in May haha thank you so much Kathy :)
