It has been almost 2 years since my son landed in Yokosuka(and I've seen him)! He will have leave in April and the hubby, 2 other sons and I are going!! We are super excited! BUT, I do have a few questions.

1. Good place to stay? (Other than the Navy Lodge, because they are already booked the 2 weeks we will be there) :(

2, Cool places to visit?

3. Cool places to eat?

Unfortunately, there hasn't been a whole lot of communication from him, since he is on deployment. So, I'm trying to plan as much from my end as I can!!

Thanks!!

We checked the Navy Lodge too. Booked up! So, we got a house (or apartment) in the middle of Tokyo! Close enough to reach the base, but far enough away for him so it's like hes on vacation too!

How can we get on some of those tours? My son isn't the best about planning.

MANCLUBMAMA WHICH AIRLINE DID U GO WITH WE ARE PLANNING A VISIT TO VISIT TOTHANKS FOR ANY HELP

We flew Delta and had no problems.

thanks so much for information  which airport did u fly into my son said go nrt ?

That sounds right.  I facebook messaged Sailor to confirm but he must be busy.  We took the train from there to Yokosuka. Great system of trains and the locals were helpful if we every had a question.  There is no personal space on the trains though.  Some trains we were packed in like Sardines others were wide open.  I believe the closer you get to the beginning or end of work the busier it gets.

Have fun.  It is a beautiful country.

thanks so much for helping  it is scary to go this far and not know what to expect my son loves it in atsugi but sure miss home he be there since feb this year he is only child

Per the son "Haneda is more convenient, but Narita is usually cheaper"

I understand what you mean about scary. I felt the same.

My son has been there for two years this month. He came home once and we went there in April.
