For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Good morning! I've just joined this group so I can learn more about divers. My sailor just arrived in pearl and is a MMN + ELT on a sub but has been told they need more qualified divers and is considering adding that to his certifications. As I understand it he won't be a full fledged Navy Diver but go to the school and go through the training. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this as I can. He isn't qualified on anything yet so wondering how he can get his fish and then leave to go to training in Florida? Anyone have any similar experience or advice?

If I remember after BC I saw my son for the wkend at Grad, than he stayed there for Dive Prep, for Grad, they just had a small class ceremony, he left to FL right away, and saw him at Grad for the wkend he did come home for a bit before his first duty station which was close to home :)

hi!!! I just started on this website and found this group:) my boyfriend has a navy diving contract and leaves for bootcamp in December. I was wondering if you guys could answer this question for me, even though it may just be common knowledge and I'm clueless lol. After they finish diving school, do the sailors go home for a time before getting stationed? Or do they come home in between diving prep school in Great Lakes and dive school in Florida?

The more you learn now will help you once he gets there! It's such a great experience. My son graduated from Dive school in Panama City in 2014. Those young men will have a special bond when it's all said and done!

It was so nice to "meet" all of you. I am at the very beginning of this journey. PIR was in July and my sailor is still at GL. I don't hear from him very much. I know he is busy and when he can use his phone, he usually calls his fiance'. Which I get. Totally :-) I probably shouldn't be in the group yet since he is still at GL, but this site was so supportive and helpful when he was in basic. Don't know what I would have done without it. Have a blessed day.

Out Divers and families:) my son graduated Dive schoool in Panama City June 08 2016 and is currently stationed in Yokuska Japan. Miss him much yes YouTube helped a lot I worried much although there is good support here.

Good evening,
My son started dive school late January and graduated on June 12th. After he completes his qualifications in Guam he will be a second class diver. They are able to call frequently, and you can call him on his cell. Schedule a time that works for you both. Weekends are best as they don't train. If he has snap chat or instagram if you are not a follower request to be added by your child. Our son posted some very interesting aspects of his training.
Please plan in attending his graduation as it is a very proud and moving time to see how much they have grown.
