Thank you very much, I appreciate your response and insight. Can you tell me where the graduation was held that you have to go early to get a good seat? I have elderly parents that will attend so I need to make some previous arrangements. Do they tape the graduation where you can purchase a CD for those who could not make it? Do you have a limited amount of tickets for the graduation? The Hi Mom's dinner, is this a ticketed invitation only for Mom's and immediate family? Sorry for all the questions we are a first time in the military family and are excited for our son's journey.
Thank you again for your time. Congrats on your son.
Thank you for all the information. We finally heard from our son and he is doing well. Fighting back all the time but was very excited to pass the RLP!! getting very excited for the end to come and finding out all this information ahead of time is great! Thanks again.
I read through the comments below and our experience in class 02-12 was similar. However our Dear Son's (DS) class had a buffet dinner at the Atlantic Beach Club along with the other celebratory events.
We got in on Wednesday evening and our Loved One (LO) was able to go to dinner with us. On Thursday night, he was allowed to stay at the hotel with us, but had to be back at the base by 5am.
One piice of advice would be to arrive about a half hour before anything begins. For example we arrive at Pass in Review about a half hour early and they were already lining up and getting ready. The Navy start time is when the event is in full form. If you get there on time, you'll have a tuff time getting a good seat, and may miss some things like the Navy band playing, etc.
Pass in Review was very casual, as was the Friday morning PT and breakfast. Our Hi Mom's group was cocktail formal. Ladies wore skirts, dresses or dressy pants suits.
At graduation, it was business attire.
It's an awesome experience - agree about the camera and the tissues-big time!
Enjoy!
