For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Betsyleebig on May 23, 2013 at 7:36am: Mary when I said I was having trouble with the friends side I might when you accept people as friends from this site I am not very adept at using the site. I am fortunate to have a few friends and although a small family we support our sailor- maybe too much.It is difficult because in reality I don't really know what he is going through in prototype other than very long hours, difficulty getting checkouts. Have always wanted to say something that makes a difference like in the movies but have not mastered it yet. Hopefully having someone to cry to helps some.

To get an E5 that quickly is unheard of usually takes twice as long as he got it in. Truly remarkable your kid is truly of the fast track to success. Great job!!!

I am very thankful for all the information I have received in this group. I did not join till my sailor was in A school in NC. For me that was a good time to start getting information about what to expect in Nuke school and the pipeline. I also felt the support and encouragement as moms would share how their sailors were finishing up and reporting to their carriers or subs. (thereby reassuring us there is a light at the end of the tunnel) My son started BC 11/2010 and he has lived the past 3 months on the USS Eisenhower on his first deployment. All is good, a recent email said "I love this ship, I love the ocean, GO NAVY" Reading this was fantastic for this mom's heart, and made me realize all the ups and downs of the roller coaster ride were just ups and downs like the waves in the sea that we weathered together. We must continue to believe the prayers that we share together for each others concerns, form a hedge of protection around our military, us and this great country. God Bless you all.

We all have a chance to feel a sliver of the pride that you are feeling after hearing such wonderful news.

My brother is extremely ill. He is in critical condition in the ICU. Today, my sailor called to check on his uncle. It was nice to hear from him. Even though we obviously had contact via texts, it was comforting to hear is voice. It was also great to hear how grad hold is going.

I can't imagine how boring my life would be without N4M. My wonderful Sailor Boy started his Navy career in Dec., last year. This site has kept me more informed and most importantly, more prepared than any other resource. I find out things before he does, lol. As far as the, "S", word. It is an unfortunate reality. Being a retired medic, I've seen it and probably heard it all. I would much rather know about any possible issues that my kids could be facing. I did speak to my son about the loss of his peer and he said that he had heard about it. He reassured me that, while it can get stressful, he has ways of coping that his, "favorite person",(that's me, yay) taught him. With tears struggling not to fall, I declared, "I love you for everything you are and for everytime you tell me that I made a difference in your life". Ugh, how corny was that.
I truly appreciate every one here. XO
