For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by prayforthesailors on September 16, 2012 at 7:14pm: Hi Tanner's grandma, prototype in NY is in Balston Spa, near Saratoga Springs. Don't worry about not knowing what to do in this site, we are all learning. As long as you read the Community Guidelines it will help you to know what is ok or not ok to post, etc. Everyone has been really helpful to me since I started on this site. The sailors will need to get their own housing at Prototype. They are given a website to help them find it. Our son found a great place close to base and very reasonable on that site.

I know nothing about what to expect, etc. Will appreciate any advice, info, ideas, etc. Thanks. Does anyone know where prototype school is in New York? He has applied to go there.

sandra---yeah. he will have briefings when he first gets threre. some go to the A school graduation, which is a little more personal from what i hear. not as big. i think most go to power school graduation. it is a big affair. glad to hear your son got his first choice. my son is a MM also.

Question: What is Indoc? is that the time between his arrival and A School? He mentioned he will graduation on 2/1, is it typical to go to all graduations?

Of course my plans for having him home for two weeks were crushed, he graduates 9/28 and starts ELT training 10/8. Oh well, still hoping he will come home for a few days at least, we haven't seen him since Christmas.

Congrats Sandra - that is such a great moment, and one of many you have to look forward to now!
