While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

NavyMomLG - All I could think of was "oh crap." Of course, as per usual, I'm getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of myself--my son is still waiting to class up for PS. Should (HOPEFULLY) be at the end of May.

I'm headed up to GC Memorial Day weekend to spend time with my son. Could be the last chance we get to spend time together until PS grad...Can't wait to see him again!

Comment by NavyMomLG on April 16, 2012 at 1:19pm: I finally talked to my son after his move to BS last weekend. He is enjoying it - spent the weekend in Manhattan. He starts class today and is glad to be back at it. He did say that he saw two of his Boot Camp/A School buddies that have been in BS for four months now and he said "Mom, they look awful. Lost a lot of weight and have big bags under their eyes." I think he has always been realistic about his training, and doesn't stress out, but it may still have been a bit of an eye-opener.

My Sailor moved to BS last weekend, then hopped a plane the next day to come home for Easter and SURPRISE us! What a great visit it was. He starts Prototype on Monday.

Lamarmama, so glad to hear he passed. Prayers answered...

Congratulations BlueRockSailorMom my son was home last week too and flew back on Easter right after power school graduation. We visited Goose Creek last Memorial Day when he was still in A school. You will love Charleston it is a beautiful city with a lot to do there. It was already pretty hot there that time of year.

I hope to be able to get there for graduation. In the mean time we talked on the phone and he is good :)

We had a big Easter egg Hunt on April 7th and who shows up? surprise...My Nuke sailor...I had no clue. he had a friends mother pick him up at the airport and bring him to me. He's home for 10 days. We do get to go to SC for Memorial day weekend for a visit.
