I'd like to send a package to Jason's unit too.  I"m just getting ready to pack a bunch for the Molly's Adopt a Sailor adoption for this month and can easily include one for his unit.  Would love to give it a theme, or something specific that they are in need of: treats, drink mixes, bandaids, whatever it is.

Dor,  The Military Support Group for the company I work for is having a care package packing party January 27.  They announced that we could submit addresses to send care packages to.  I was wondering if I could submit your son's platoon or group he is deployed with.  I know it isn't much but it would at least send a message to them that people back home have not forgotten about them & express concern for them.  Also, if you think there is anything in particular that they could use, please let me know.

Dor I think all of us all over the country are waiting to hear how Jason is doing, but I know you will post when you can. Just wanted to let you know I am still thinking about you!

Anna, listen to Connie.  My son will graduate Power School on Feb 3rd and says they will do ALL in their power to make sure these kids.. uhmm, sorry, Sailors, get it.  Yes, they will probably encounter someone difficult whether it is an instructor in class or inspection, but as my sailor said, the sailors work hard TOGETHER in study groups, and if an instructor isn't getting through to one of the sailors for their study, they will try as many different instructors as it takes. Connie is right when she says the Nukes are special.  When Admiral Rickover started this program he wanted these sailors to start with a higher paygrade. The Navy moms that have told you that must have been talking about BC.  At BC, remember, they tear them to shreds to make them a UNIT so everyone starts at level ground.

My son also said not to come for A school grad; went anyway.  It was a much more personable graduation.  Not only did everyone let pictures be taken but I had the opportunity to speek to instructors, chiefs, and all.  I was happy for the opportunity.  Power School grad was a bigger ceremony with much pomp...just lucky to be able to attend both.
