For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by CindyLou (Louisville) on November 18, 2011 at 9:25pm: My son was Honorman Grad today for his A school graduation! I am so proud of him. I wish I could have been there for the ceremony. Some of my N4M friends have my back and are going to give me some pics. Thanks girls!

It looks like the excitement will continue through the weekend. Tonight he and his friends will celebrate. Tomorrow, he and the other A school grads will move rooms. My son is happy he will have his own room! Monday, he is hoping to have a chance to talk to his new SLPO to ask several questions.

I have a question about Ballston Spa. Right now my son is still in Charleston, he graduated from power school Oct. 7. He thinks he'll probably go to Ballston Spa for prototype, but so far doesn't know for sure, and also doesn't know when he might be going. I was wondering if anybody knows of any restaurants that are in both the Ballston Spa area and Charleston. I don't want to get him a gift card for a restaurant that can only be used in Charleston and then he finds out he's being sent to New York immediately after Christmas or something.

I think I am due for a new Navy Mom t-shirt too, I got one at PIR and one of my girls spilled something on it that left a bleach-type stain - I know it wasn't bleach because they don't go near the washing machine LOL!

Thank you for all of the thoughts and wishes around our pet situation. We had a family discussion last night, and through all the tears made the difficult decision to return to the vet next week. Really a shame that it is Thanksgiving week. We already have another dog, a seven-year-old German Shephard. I am sure that will help ease the pain a little.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are looking forward to "a wintery mix" here, so I will be hauling in firewood tonight!
