bobbysproudmom - or maybe you will find that lost treasure :)

yep, Villas paid up front and can only be paid by the sailor, not by you.  I had to give my son my credit card number while he was in their office.  they confirmed it to him, then emailed me the confirmation.

We had a 2 bedroom that was $60b a night, but since we stayed 7 nights, the rate dropped to $50 a night.  Can't beat that, and no taxes or anything.  There is a McDonald's just down the street, and the big NEX.   and a Subway and a bar called The Dive closer down to where he is on base.  oh, a bowling alley too, and the mini NEX.  Would definately be tons of walking back and forth.  By then he might be able to stay over night, not sure.  He'll find out.

I think my boyfriend will probably end up paying either hotel, or flight there. flights are about 413$ right now, and probably wont get cheaper, but ill be rate hunting until it gets to september time.

I'll probably shuttle, or see if his roommate would be okay with driving if i gave him gas money or something.

prior to his leaving for bootcamp he had a POS car, and the brakes went out(all 4) one day when he got out of work, and I had to pick him up. We priced it out and checked out the towing, brakes, brake pads etc, it was just not worth it. the brakes alone would cost 5/600$ ish, so being that it was one of the many things wrong with his car, aside of being 200,000k miles deep, i convinced him to sell it and just get rid of it. he got 400$ for it and that was good enough. I was his ride everywhere for about 2 weeks he just practically lived with me, then shipped off. So he doesn't have a car, and JUST got there, infact starts indoc tomorrow. He's planning on getting a car once he phases up, but i doubt he'll find what he wants by the time i'm down there.

nicole - you aren't driving his car down to him?  that would be nice.  Help you both out a lot.  I'd ride with you if I lived closer, but I live in Phoenix.  hope to be flying back for power school grad on Oct. 7.
