Now I lay me down to sleep, one less terrorist this world does keep. With all my heart, I give my thanks, to those in uniform regardless of ranks. You serve our country and serve it well, with humble hearts your stories tell. So as I rest my weary eyes, while freedom rings our flag still flies. You give your all, do what you must...with God we live and in God we trust.

Just want to post a short note. . . Very proud to say that my son is a Navy Nuke sailor and very proud of the Navy Seal unit that finally put a stop to Bin Ladan!  Proud of all of our US Military men and women!!  Go Navy!!

We Skyped with our son last night around 9 p.m. EDT and he mentioned that the security level was raised, but he didn't know why.  Well, guess we've all figured that out by now.

He also mentioned that there was a Captain's Mast last week, involving a conspiracy of silence around some who were underage drinking--about 10-12 people.  Since he's underage, we've had The Talk with him a few times.  He said he can't really understand it--they've been told over and over again of the penalties for underage drinking, they all know the situation, but people still do it and get caught.  He thinks they are really dumb about this.  As he puts it, he has a great time with his buddies with no drinking.  Hope that keeps up, and he remains smart about it even after he's 21.

I guess I'm pointing this out mostly for the Newbie Nuke Moms.

[OK, end of preachiness here.  But, sorry--I'm with him.  With so much at stake, you really think that they all would be a little smarter about it.]

Haven't been on much lately.  too many other things in my busy little life... But

Hoo ya  for the SEALS.

Also, I am please to announce that I have "adopted" a k-9 military unit ( a military person and his pooch) though the Soldier's Angels.  I am so proud and have started putting together a pack for them.  They are stationed in Afghanistan.  Our family is doing this because we are honoring our Sailor.  We have possesion of his pup and we thought this would give the pooch a "puppy-pen pal" in the military. ( ok, I admit it, I am sappy for my critters!  I love hearing foaling lady's horse stories!)

To all of us,   Cheers to our service personel.

Aggie, congrats to you and your son. Yes, you may display your Blue Star Flag. We all have them in our windows and are not for "deployed" Sailors.

April, Wow, you have really been through the ringer!! I am so sorry, but totally understand back issues. I have had problems since the end of February and I didn't do anything except walk. The CT scan didn't show anything so I have never followed up on anything. I am still having issues, but they are slowly getting better. At least I can move and feel normal at times. I also have Fibromyalgia, have for 14 years. I don't see anyone for it, I do natural stuff. Having worked in the medical field for 20 years and knowing a little, I don't make a good patient. lol

I do hope you feel better and able to get around. Thanks for checking out Sym's Chocolates. I am going to post more pictures as I do things. I have a large order for "Africa" cookies for a fundraiser. A girl in our church is going on a Missions trip and they will be the dessert at her spaghetti fundraiser. Should be fun making and decorating them all.

Kat, it was many posts back that you asked, but I found out last night that my son is class 1104-10.  Last thing he said to me last night was "talk to you in six months."  I guess life's going to get even harder for them now that they've started power school.

One other question -- I got my Blue Star Flag on Friday.  Am I allowed to display it even though my son is just in school, not actually deployed?

mommajo- Your son may have been talking about the fact that they raised the security level last night. Not only did we kill Bin Laden, but apparently we also killed Qaddafi's youngest son and three grandchildren. I have no idea who the heck that is, but the wives were talking about it last night. I guess they were at FEPCON Bravo because Qaddafi was pissed that we killed his family and is/was threatening to attack the U.S. to get revenge.

BRAVO ZULU Navy Seals!!!  Love the high-five, Savanna!  Do any of you watch "How I Met Your Mother"???  Barny does the "phone-five"  (high-five over the phone).  We will have to now coin the phrase Comp-Five........what do ya think???  lol  WOO HOO

Mary -- Reality television in 3d -- lmao -- BUT, it would probably rival the most high tech action movie!  See the table being flipped at you now.......lol

I would've freaked if some kid stole my itouch!  Most I've had a kid steal was actual cash....(about $8 worth of quarters -- we had an old fashioned soda machine for the kids' rec. room, but didn't want anyone to actually pay to have it, so we had a box of quarters on the top of the machine.....)

Sharon -- am going to check your page now!  How AWESOME to be able to do what you love!!!  I am currently out of work (on workers' comp) with a back injury.  It's been a fight every step of the way and is making me insane!  I wanted to get a better paying job around now because my youngest is graduating h.s. My current job keeps me on the school schedule -- timing and days off....but my whole life is on HOLD!  This may be too much info., but...(here I go anyway) I got divorced a little over 3 years ago -- it took me a LONG time to come to that decision....then I was sick with a pertussis like sickness for 2 years (cycle in and out of vomiting 5 to 6 times a day and NO there was NO weight loss benefit!) I got better for about 3 to 4 months...lost 17 pounds....and fell on my A$$ on black ice at work -- that was 12/09.  I was back at work some (which I shouldn't have done), kept having recurring "episodes" and the last "episode" was in September '10 and I haven't worked since October....it's extremely frustrating and depressing!  I FINALLY had one of the MRIs (I need one for my neck, also) which SHOWS the problem (disc that is "blown out to the right"), and now I get to wait to start treatment.....meanwhile life is just ticking away (this might have something to do with my birthday this week! -- feeling it a bit more)

Ugh, anyway, I'm normally a very upbeat and optimistic person!  LMAO, but really!
