That is so funny, I used to be that way. I have had cars that tell me which direction I am going in and as long as I have that I am good to go. If I didn't I would be so lost and still going in circles! lol

Kris - me too!!  Tell me to turn at the barn or past the 5th house on the right or McDonald's, whatever, but please give me something to go by!!

Dan's mom - my hubby get aggravated at me because I lack an internal compass.  When he tries to give me directions to get somewhere, he say something like, "When you get to Highway 49, go East" I have to ask, is that left or right?

My car has a digital compass on the rearview, so now I can fake it!!

Emily: Congratulations on your choice!!!

Dor: Beautiful necklace!!

I have been looking at the many things to do and see in Charleston. We are planning on going down on 30 June-7 or 8 July. It should be fun being there for the 4th. Would love to sit on the beach and watch the fireworks. We did this many moons ago in FL and it was really cool! Glad to hear about everyone's plans and trips already made down.

Just read to catch up; extra hours are nice for the paycheck but brutal on the social networking and older body!

Sounds like trips to GC are going great.  Can't wait until June!  Thanks for all the info; I have a notebook where I try to write your advice cuz there are so many posts I will never find everything again.

Supposed to snow againg tonight; but it was 70 last Saturday.  Just love spring.

Hugs and happy day to all.

Kat - I am hoping to drive to GC with my two daughters in June. I am coming from MN, and plan to take three days going and two days coming home. They are 12 and 13, so I will be doing all of the driving, but my 13 year old helped with navigation when we were in Maui a few weeks ago. Nope, they sure don't teach those skills in school! It was a good thing we were on an island!! You were close though, my given name is Elizabeth :)

Thanks, Jeanne, that's pretty much what I've found so far, time-wise.  We're leaving on Thursday after work, so we may well stop halfway to GC, just so we get some sleep so we can enjoy doing stuff on Friday.  Going home will probably be different, since we'll leave Monday morning and have to be at work on Tuesday.  And, depending on if we buy a car for our son, we may be driving two cars down to GC.  We will see.

And for those of you whose sailors are looking into credit cards:  my son is excited--he got approved for his first credit card!  He had to call the bank issuing the card (it's the same bank where he has an account) because they wanted proof of his permanent address.  Even though he sent them a copy of his cable bill with his app, I guess that wasn't enough.  So he called them and explained he was in the military, and they approved him right then.  Now he's happy he can build up his credit, even though he doesn't plan to use it much.

We're driving from MI and will probably stop one night, although with three drivers, we could drive through. Funny thing:  about halfway to Charleston, SC is Charleston, WV! We'll probably drive a bit farther than that, but that's still funny.

Thanks, Dor, I'll keep that in mind if my keyboard starts driving me too crazy. By the way, I think your "o" key is sticking lol
