Has anyone purchased the sea to shining sea cookbook? Did you like it. What edition is the best? The profits benefit different  Navy fundraisers. I was going to order some but wanted to know  some input before I decide how many and which edition.

My son broke his iPhone last week, and HAD to replace it with the iPhone 4. He posted on the 3rd that he's already broke, and hungry. Looks like he may be forced to check out the dreaded galley food for a while...

Uhm. For the most part, Aaron got to pick what times he did what watches. They have a list of watches that they have to qualify to stand before they graduate and are on T-Track. Basically because if they're put on Watch Team for T-Track they have to know what they're doing for each job. So they are responsible for scheduling each watch time outside of class hours. And getting whoever is in charge to sign off on it (which can sometimes be the hardest part). Seesh, it feels like Aaron did that such a long time ago, but it was only last year!!
I love answering questions! Ask away! :) I'm procrastinating laundry and a paper right now... :)

illysha- 11 letters!? That's amazing for your first set!! Hurray! :)

They have class from about 7a-4p M-F. Sometimes in A school, they can get lucky and get out early on Fridays. PT is in the morning in the summer (when it's hot) and in the afternoon in the winter (when it's cooler). They generally PT 3 times a week, but that depends on who their leader is. They all have study hours that they have to fulfill in the building. In the building (the Rickover) is the only place they can study and there is no cellphones/computers/outside contact allowed. What they're learning is top secret. At first everyone will start out on 15-3s. Which means they have to go in for 3 hours on school nights (Sun.-Thu.) and put in 15 hours overall a week. If they're grade point average goes up, the study hours will go down and vice versa. Eventually they can make it to 0-0s or 10-0s, but they can also make it to like 30-5s which is torture for the guys.

And J's mom is talking about the watch quals they have to do. If he's an MM, it'll seem like he's a little more crunched for time on those than the Electricians only because he'll have 3 months to complete them instead of 6.

You should definitely check out the discussion: "Your Sailor's Schedule Upon Arrival to GC" if you haven't already. :)

Yes emily! I got 11 letters yesterday! I guess Thursday will be when I get letters? But yeah I finally found it! I'm not sure why it took me so long to find the group lol

lol about the haircut, William.  They're ever ready to cover all their bases, aren't they?

My MM graduates A school next week, too.  So just has comps to worry about, then home for 10 days.  Woohoo!
