Janiece my heart goes out to you.  My son has walked away from power school tests feeling really bad and then did OK.  It must just blow the rest of them when the select few just get up early and walk off.  That is not my son.  He's in the middle of the pack. Thinking good thoughts for your sailor!!!

WOW...just talked to Chase.  He wasn't feeling good about the test.  Doesn't have a feeling either way but seemed pretty freaked out and worried that if he didn't pass they are not allowed to leave base and will have 30 5's and will retake next Wed.  They won't be able to graduate this week and was worried that we spent all the money to fly out for nothing.  Couldn't say or uplift him this morning.  I think that was the first time I've ever heard panic in his voice.  He said that was literally the hardest exam he has ever taken and didn't get all the questions answered.  Ran out of time and ended up leaving 2 questions blank.  I asked how everyone else's take was and they felt the same.  Said there were 4-5 in his class that got done early and got up and left.  He said they are the norm's that never put in extra study and score pretty high.  The brillant ones he says.  I'm so worried and at loss of words on how to comfort our son.  I hope our power of prayer and the knowledge his his head will soon give us a great phone call.

Worried & hurting mom here....

I'm thinking good thoughts today for all the sailors taking comps.

You can't buy a NEX gift card online anymore.  I wanted to get my son one for his birthday and I procrastinated too long and they had quit offering them when I went to buy it.  :-(  So I bought Best Buy gift card instead which I'm sure he will use.

Mark....there were over 1100 questions to prepare and study from.  Most of the exams thus far have been 150 questions.  So who knows with comps.  Time will soon tell.
Comment by Mark on April 19, 2011 at 11:06am
1100 questions is at least 10 times on the high side, I'm afraid...

Hey Mommajo....Thank you for your kind words.  Were in SLC, UT and yes we had snow yesterday in the foothills and mountains.  Lots of rain in the valleys and causes alot of the rivers to flood yesterday in parts of the Wasatch Front.

My son has always been his worst enemy and has gotten a bit better since he started Power School.  Once he came to the conclusion that he will never be at the top of the class cause there are so ..so..many smarter guys than him, he lower his standards to be more in line to what fits him.  He's happy and content to be at the class average which is still fantastic.  There motto amongest them is "2.5 to stay alive".   We keep reminding Chase that it's not gonna matter what your scores were while in A School or Power School as long as you passed.  Your still a MM Nuke and no what & how to fix the problem once faced with the situation on carrier/fleet.  Our daughter is in medical school and it's the same thing with her...worst enemy and expectations are so high.  We tell her the same thing, once you graduate "your a doctor".  You have your degree and no one will care what your grades were.  Your still a doctor and that's all that matters.

Well...now if we can hear that all of Class 1101 passed would just make me stop worrying.  Guess I'll try and occupy my time and do some office work.  LOL

Hugs.....

Janiece :)

Emily, How do you even have time for us today?

Happy fiftieth, Happy Anniversary, Happy travelling.  Now I am to go about my mundane day at work!

JanieceM-love the "new term"  relaxed and calm and let the knowledge take over with the exam.   Sometimes I think my son is his own worst enemy; but, I would have knots in my stomach knowing all that is on the line.  I have knots and I'm not even taking exams!

More snow today; Spring, where are you?

Emily and JavaJo have FUN!!  Be safe.

Colleen have a happy, happy birthday.
