PacNWmom - that is a huge accomplishment!  Congratulations!    So so sorry you can’t be there. That kind of thing sort of tears at the heartstrings as a mom.

I can't complain, I still have two children that are living at home with me, but pictures of my grandbaby last night started the tears rolling.

Yes, my son just moved to his new command. He will be done with his quarantine this Friday ! He is so excited to get back to work. He was not able to go anywhere on his 30 days of leave, other than 50 miles around G.C. He doesn't consider himself a sailor until he qualifies on his ship. I'm so proud of him for all he has done in these last two years.Still wish his command was on the other side of the U.S.

I would of been kidless for the first time on Mother's day but I used the not so nice guilt trip on my daughter( which I should be ashamed of), I think she might surprise me. I will be missing my Sailor though.

PacNWmom - wow!  I can't believe your son is getting his commission this weekend.  Seems like just yesterday he was off to college.  I'm sorry you won't be able to celebrate the graduation and commission with him in person but I'm sure he knows how proud you are of him - and we are too!  Try not to feel sad - we are here to lift you up! Hugs to you momma ;-D

NickSydmom - love the cowbells!  They were a staple at cross country meets!

Chipmunk - hopefully you'll get to hold that grandbaby soon.

I am lucky that youngest is home from NE so I'll have one kid at home for Mother's Day....

613mgbmom - did your son just move to his new command and that's why he's in quarantine?

Cheryl S - glad your son made it to GC - now the fun begins!

Wink5 - Hi!  I've missed you my friend ;-D

Hi KayCee!

I hope everyone is doing well - almost another week down!

PacNWmom I will also be without a kid this Mother’s Day and already told my husband to prepare for tears.

NickSydmom - LOL!!  Cowbells are great!!

goofygirl32 - Thank you!!

My son played football so I got to see the band every Friday and his school had a great band they were just as good as watching the game. And I was the crazy mom with a sign and a cow bell because my husband took my air horn

PacNWmom, it was tough not being there.  I see all these pictures from past years and i don't have a picture of him and me at his commissioning.  In the face of everything that's happening in the world, I know that's a minor complaint, but it still makes me sad.   They did a virtual commissioning, so I was able to see him on the TV and we did facetime after. I know we will all get through this, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!  Congratulations to you and your son! and also for your new grandbaby!
