B’sNukeMom, we were able to “talk” a little via messenger.  He isn’t saying much right now.  I wish he’d talk to us about what is happening.

Mammagoose - were you able to speak with your son over the weekend?  Just wondering how he is doing?  Please remind him that this isn't the end of the world.  It's just a change in plan and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Hi all - Happy Monday!  So many birthdays this week!  Yay!!!  It's hard not being able to spend birthdays with your kids (we haven't spent a birthday with B since 2012) but you find new ways to celebrate them.  It's not a bad thing it's just a new "norm".  I never expected B to get out of the Navy and stay in  Michigan lol - but love has you do other things!

We had a beautiful weekend here in SoCal - got to spend one last day hanging out by the pool.  It was nice to relax and have some "me time".

New Adventures - glad you got to spend time with your Sailor after PIR.  MM classes usually start up quicker than the others since there are more of them....what is your son?  MM, EM or ET?

MoMom - I sent you a PM!

The Hammer - Hugs!! Birthdays are hard. For my son, his 19th b'day was during A school and no one else knew. Some how it came up with one of his instructors who then wished him a Happy Birthday. My son really appreciated that. Due to the timing of his arrival at GC and his b'day, and the fact that I am not on FB, I did not have an opportunity to have anyone take him a cake or such. Last year, he was in the middle of comps for PS so no celebration either.

My son's birthday is this week as well!! Happy Birthday to all of our sailors!

Fyi - for my son's first birthday away, I found those little make in a mug cake mixes and sent him a candle. I also sent him a non-breakable mug that he could put in the microwave so that he could bake it.

I just got off the phone with a friend near my son's duty station and she is looking online for my son's favorite cake and frosting, and offered to make it for him!!!

Hammer, Oct 7 is a big day in my family. It's my older kiddo's 28th birthday (the non-navy kid). Also my brother's b-day, and the 8th anniversary of my dad being diagnosed with leukemia (he's doing great!).

Happy Birthday to all celebrating this week!!

Hammer, my son turns 22 on Wednesday. His third birthday away. I’m feeling the same way. Prayers and hugs to you!

Today is my sailor's 25th birthday and I have a little case of the sads. I keep telling myself to snap out of it... he's doing great and he's healthy... and that's what matters... but my big momma's heart isn't listening. Gotta suck it up and get ready for work... thanks for listening to this sappy mom!
