For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Chipmunk on October 1, 2019 at 5:57pm: Deb S. - if your sailor flies out of O'Hare - the USO is or at least was in 2017 wonderful with guiding us parents and giving us directions. We checked in on one half of the counters while all of our sailors checked in at the other. Just make sure you have proper ID, and follow all TSA rules as if you were flying yourself.

Comment by ShipOfDoodles on October 1, 2019 at 11:25am: Thank you, all. This has been very, very helpful in trying to plan PIR weekend around the uncertainty, the limit of three tickets, and the fact my sons and their significant others live in Chicago. I know now to be prepared for anything.

I do have one question: If we want to go the airport, do we have to be with our recruit at the ticket counter to get a temporary pass to wait with them at the gate? Seems I had to do that in Indianapolis. Or, do I just need to have his flight number, appropriate ID and tell them that I am a military mom requesting a temp pass? My son's PIR is scheduled for November 8--headed to Nuke School afterward.

SuzyPWarrior - my son took a nap in my lap at the airport, it was that last transition from being my little boy to going off as a man. When they went to board the plane, they had enough room, they moved all of our sailors to upgraded seats, I think! Quite the site to see about 10 sailors all in their dress whites boarding the plane. That is when I finally let the tears flow.(or at least drip!)
