I agree with NancyJo - the friendships I've made on here have been invaluable! I've been fortunate to meet many of you and there are many more I hope to meet someday. In the meantime I stick around and try to help out where I can.  No one gets it like another Navy mom lol!

Comment by Chipmunk on April 11, 2019 at 12:41pm

NancyJo - your comment struck me that I will probably remember the date of my son's departure to BC as well as I remember his birthday!! - But that will be easy, because it was the same as his dad's birthday. My point, I can't recall quickly the graduation dates, but I won't forget his MEPS date.

I too appreciate N4M's and I appreciate the interaction of fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, spouses, and other family members as well.

I was trying to remember when I joined N4Ms and I'm not sure. I took my son to MEPS May 12, 2010 and I remember meeting other Navy Moms at PowerSchool graduation so somewhere in there. I just checked what people I friended here over the years and many haven't been seen in a long time. Having said that, my Sea Sisters have been a lifeline over these last 9 yrs, especially during deployments. I just don't know what I would have done without N4Ms. Thank you for being there. <3<3<3

Congrats to all our graduates and their moms. Looks like rain in Charleston. :(  I pray the sun shines on you and your sailors on the big day. Such a proud moment! Make sure you give hugs for all the moms who aren't making it. Enjoy and safe travels!

Safe travels to all heading to graduations ;-D

Good Morning and Happy Thursday!

kai cat - I'm guessing you might be in SC by now (or close to it!).  Enjoy your time.  Give your son a thump for not calling you and then get lots of hugs lol!  See if you can find Amarrah to include in your pictures too!

Chipmunk - it's funny cuz I think of all the moms that were here when I joined in 2012 and now they aren't around.  Like you said, either in the fleet or discharged.  It goes in cycles.  And I think there is a lot of good info to pass on which is one of the reasons I stick around.

Comment by Chipmunk on April 10, 2019 at 10:39pm

I was searching for something on the general site and it brought me back to this group in the middle of 2016!! I have been scrolling through and reading comments, and realized how many people were all chattering a lot when I first joined and now are more quiet due to their sailors being out in the fleet or discharged. Your questions and fears are all the same as ours and your encouragement to each other continues.

Thinking of PattiP, Buzzbeck, PacNWMom , CO-Twin, B'sNukeMom (although, you keep us going) and others. Hoping things are going well.  You have milestones shared in the midst of all of these comments. Thank you for haring your sailors and your journeys with us!

Safe travels for all!!

On a total change of topic...My son didn't call after he found out he passed comps. (I finally gave in and called him at 6pm!)..because "of course I was going to pass" LOL.  The first thing I read when I opened FB was of a roommate who didn't pass and so of course I was thinking about it! But my son and his 2 roommates are good to go!

I am planning on meeting up with pandalvr and submom on Friday - but do any other moms want to meet up at graduation on Friday?  please message me your cell# so we can connect!

If anyone can't make it and needs photo's - please let me know!  I am so excited about getting up at 3AM to fly out tomorrow! LOL

Thank you!

I just posted a new comment that is on the last page of the discussion above - Very Concerned - especially for some of our newcomers who might have questions regarding medical issues and suicide at NNPTC or Prototype. And then through out the Navy career.

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on April 10, 2019 at 12:16pm

Good thoughts, Chipmunk. I was raised with praying every time there was a siren, passed an accident, or saw someone with car trouble. I also lift all our sailors in prayer. There is great comfort in knowing prayers are going up for our kids, no matter how grown they are. Thanks for sharing and maybe inspiring others to say a little prayer.
