~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

That's great your sailor is getting to class-up so soon.  My sailor is at Pensacola and from what I've heard from other Navy Moms/Wives, sounds like it could be 2-6 months for them to class-up...and over Spring Break.

It is great to be post PIR!! Yesterday was the first day that I hadn't heard from him since he was able to have his phone. He is in A school in Gulfport, MS. Hoping to go see him for Spring Break.  I'm amazed at how much relief that I feel now that he is a sailor. Glad we can all still keep in touch. :-)

It was a great weekend i didn't get home until today at 2:30am. My flight from Chicago to Philly was great and right on time and I lanned in philly at 1:30 and try to catch my flight to Harrisburg only to find out it was cancelled and they couldnt get me on another flight until Thursday so I caught the subway to the train station and then took a train to Harrisburg. I think I applied all that patience that I learned over the 2 months of bootcamp. I am just glad to be home now! Hope everyone had a great weekend with their saliors.

is anyone just getting the rested feeling?  I told my husband we were crazy. Drive 12 hours, then spend 6 hours at an airport, then drive 12 hours home?  The things you do for your children. What a great time though.  I didn't make any meet and greets, but we had alot of family come. Had a great visit with my Sailor. We did fit in some sight seeing in during our visit. we didn't come home until Monday. Saw the Bean! Loved it. Had fun in Chinatown. it was so cold though!!  We walked around and ate alot!!  :)  I love being able to text and call my Sailor!!
