Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

A's_Momma_Erin, I still check the discussions occasionally. My son is doing well. He is an ET2 now. He loves the navy. His younger brother has also been in the navy for two years.

I just got the revised copy of the Keel for 069 and 070. Everyone from these divisions that ordered a copy should be getting their corrected copies. I checked through it and it appears to be perfect. Hope you are all well.

Erin, the DVD arrived here at least two weeks ago.

Question for you all. Has anyone reciecved the DVD of PIR yet? Mine hasn't come yet...
Comment by Lloyd on March 28, 2014 at 12:05pm

I just received a phone call from Diane at the NEX Photo Lab. She said that she just got approval to reprint the Keel for 069/070 and that everyone that ordered the Keel will receive a new copy. She did not have word on the mistakes from the other divisions. I hope that they fix the problems with the other divisions from our training group as well.

""The latest in the saga "Erin, I spoke with the publisher today, Joe Cupps, his answer to me was that he talked to NEX, and they were trying to find a solution, but he did say that the Navy was going to have to be responsible to pay for any reprints, he was trying to locate the book my daughter was in, and possibly reprint it, so sounds like he is putting responsibility back on the NEX. Oh and 068 had three female sailors with the last name Davis only one is in the book two girls were eliminated. I told him I would expect a call from NEX or him ASAP."
