I thought it would be good to get to know each other a little before they move on to A school in Charleston.  I am only 3.5 hours away so I am hoping to get to visit frequently.  If your SR's need anything while they are there I would be happy to help.

I am a proud Nuke Mom.

My son is a Nuke too (Ship 12, Div 73) and wrote he had to be at the airport at 1am. I gues we will be hanging there until we get kicked out by TSA or something. That is a bummer that they have to fly out right away but I am glad they are getting started right away.

I am also glad they are getting started right away.  I think him coming home for a week or 2 as his friends keep requesting, would only result in the loss of some of his newly earned discipline and he is going to need it to get through Nuke school.. (His friends are outraged that he would not get a month or so off after basic training.-LOL)

It's funny to read my words coming from you, Connie! As much as I'd like to have my son home for a bit I think it's best that he continue with the discipline begun at training! We'd not heard anything from him directly about when he leaves for SC; we just know what we've read here. Have other SRs mentioned it in their letters and that's how you all know?
He mentioned it and it was confirmed reading what some of the nukes who previously graduated did.

Well, we have sailors. Now on to the Nuke journey.  My son asked me to bring his laptop and cell phone but does not think he will have room for the laptop.  He said he has so much to arry he does not want to add another bag to it.  I will be meeting him in SC to give him whatever else he wants the weekend after PIR.  He was told we will be able to visit most weekends.

My son is in Charleston. Those of you I did not meet, I hope to get to know in Charleston. I am so proud of my Sailor
.

We got to see them off in both airports ~ they are a fine group of Sailors!!!!!  I heard they arrived safely in Charleston and got settled really late (actually early in the morning).  So they all had a very long day (or days!!!) and probably ready for some rest.  I am extremely proud of both my sailor and all the other sailors that were travelling with him.

My son was also in 03/071...He was the RCPO of that division. He was the one who carried the cutless(sword) in front. What is your son's name and what is he in nuke school for? My son is Eli Walton and going to be a MM. Hope we all get to meet in Charleston sometime. I am waiting to hear from Eli today to see if he can come home before school starts. PIR was so amazing. So proud of our sailors!!

Hi Crystal, I met your son and have a great picture of him and my son Tyler, I tagged Trudy in it on facebook. Eli is a very nice young man. My son is an EM so he'll be there a while.

Very proud of all these sailors.
