Hi! My son is there too. Just got a small, but real letter today from him. We made our reservations for the big day. So excited!!

Hi  I found out today my son had written the wrong DIV on the form Letter. He is also Ship 12 Div 073. He had written 072. I received my first letter on Friday a bit concerned since I had the wrong Div the letters I have written will not get to him. That is stressful. Hope your son is doing well. Mine sounded pretty positive.

Tona, sorry to hear about your frustrations. My son's handwriting actually improved and we all laughed about that. Glad your guy is positive. My son sounded homesick but assured me he as not forgotten the "big overall picture" after this (Yes!!) He said he is with a good group of guys, they sound like they support each other. We try to send a letter every couple of days. Keep writing him, maybe the other letters will show up too.

Hi all!!  I know I started this & disappeared, sorry...  I FINALLY got a letter, well 3 actually in one envelope, on Friday.  I'm booked & ready to go!  Can't wait!!  My husband and I also joked about the improved handwriting.  I'm so proud!

Has anyone here gotten a call from their SR yet?  I'm thinking we're about due for our "I'm still alive" call

I received one on Thursday. I do not know how they decide who calls and when. I do know others have said that sometimes when a call is made those that are on duty get to make it a day or two later. So yes you should get a call anyday now. Mine was around four central time. Not sure if they call around the same time everyday.

We received our call Thursday, 1/12 around 5pm Easter time, talked for about 20mins. He said there is a room they are able to use in the NEX, that's where they make the calls. He said they should be able to call in 2 more weeks. Graduation pics are coming up soon. My son stated how HARD it is to fold and iron, I held my laughter because in the next breath he said the room was messed up after all that work.

Our son is in this division as well.  Glad there is a group to get info from.  Our son wrote two letters and we receive one real call (though it was for only 6 minutes).   He sounded pretty good in the letters.  Hope the next 4 weeks go quickly.  Does anyone know what A school there sons or daughters are headed for?

My son is on ship 12 DIV 073 as well. Just got a letter yesterday.

Prayers for all of you Navy Moms. I am stressed to the max. Not the first child in the military. Actually he is the 3rd...he's the baby, though and I am wigging out =)

((pictured is my oldest son. He graduated a couple of years ago))

Well, please let me thank you, Military Mom 0131, for raising 3 outstanding US Citizens!  You must be one wonderful momma!!!  My first born is midway through boot now...  Didn't get my call because he was having his wisdom teeth yanked.  Please let me know off board what your son's name is & we'll trade kid names - I think it's good for them to know that the mommies are connected.  I know mine was happy to know I had mommy friends in his division!  Hang in there!!

Has anyone else heard if their child was amongst those who had their wisdom teeth pulled?  My SR said it was an incredibly unpleasant experience :(

Good news, he said he will now be able to write on Tuesdays & Thursdays now - so heads up mommas - we should start getting more mail!!!

Yes, thank the Lord my son only had one and the dentist said it was near his ear so they left it alone. He did say that the others that had to have them out it wasn't too good!  Hope your son recovers well.
