Hi my name is Jordan and my gf is on the same ship and is in the same division....I havent gotten a letter from her yet except her graduation date which is on June 15th

Jordan, I just got my first letter on Thursday, short and brief, had stuff to get done. Maybe you will hear something this week. Just make sure  to keep your letters upbeat and positive for her.

Hey there! My name is Jacob and I just joined the site! My girlfriend is also in this division. I got her first letter on Thursday and I've been writing her ever since the day she left. Her graduation date is June 15th and I'll be flying out there with her parents on the 14th.

That's good to hear Jordan! That's funny cause my girlfriend is also in the Reserves so she comes back sometime in December/January after A school and C school. I was thinking about joining as well to do Aero Propulsion Systems since I got a 89 on the ASVAB and I'll have 46 units after this semester at my community college so I'd go in as an E-3. But I'm not too sure if I want to since after Fall 2012 I'll have a job at Northrop Grumman working on the F-35's My girlfriend and I have been together for 3 years and 8 months as of April 30th and we live together at her parents place since I had no place to go after my dad left my mom and my mom couldn't support me anymore. Because we live together it's extremely tough to get by without her there. I haven't gotten used to the fact that she's gone, but I've accepted the fact that she won't be home for awhile. I'm kinda hoping she comes back home in Jan/Feb so that it'll give me more time to get the job at Northrop and save for an apartment. I'd really like to surprise her with that when she comes home but who knows if that will work lol

That is awesome! she has C school too? what program is she in? My gf just has A school in great lakes and then can come back but it probably wont be until after i leave in July so i got to take advanatge of seeing her when she graduates in June. Dang 89 is good you were pretty close to getting nuke, seal or special ops contract if it was just a point higher. 89 is pretty dang good.....i got in the 70's becuase i was sick as a dog when i took the ASVAB but I'm an E-3 since i have 48 credits, its going to be nice. Maria also ranked up to E-3 through recruiting a couple of contracts and a seal contract as well. Im probably going to go into electronics. You should consider going in....there are a lot of benefits. However the hardest part if you went active is that you might be away for periods of time, and the job at Northrop Grumman sounds really good. On another point since your gf is in the reserves she can follow you,lol thats what im doing with maria. Wow that's crazy i kind of live with Maria's mom right now because of family circumstances too! so i understand the whole family dynamic! I think she would really appreciate if you got an apartment for her and had it all set up.....it would show how much you care.  Its really hard not seeing Maria everyday, she was my best friend as well as my gf so its taken a little to get used to it. We were practically living together for the last 2 months so seeing her leave was hard. She was saying in her first letter how she so desperately wants to see me, so it was nice to hear that she was feeling what i was feeling. We should keep in touch and exchange numbers....only if you want and maybe meet up in Great Lakes in June.... her mom and i are going out together so it would be cool to maybe meet up

Ya she's going in as a Hospital Corpsman with additional training in Dental. She's already an EMT in the ER at the local hospital here so she'll be doing great. She has A school in San Antonio, Texas and C school in Texas too. So for our 4 yr anniversary I'm driving the 1400 miles from Socal to San Antonio just to see her for 2 days lol. But its definitely worth it. I'm really split between joining right now just since I can get the job at Northrop, and finish out my BS in Aerospace Engineering. Then I would be able to stay with that company and have them pay for my graduate school. My gf's dad works there as a Senior Software Engineer so that's my "in" for the company. I mean you really can't beat the benefits through Northrop either. I'm glad I've got options though. I think what I'll do is just finish out the Aircraft courses at my CC, get the job at Northrop and finish out my Bachelor's. And if she decides after 18 months in the Reserves that she wants to go active and tour with the Marines, then I'll happily wait for her.

It's funny cause we're best friends too so not only do I not get to see my girlfriend, my best friend isn't there to talk to either. I've lost contact with a lot of friends just because I hang out with her ALL the time. But I'm happy and I'm happy for her. She's wanted to join the Navy for awhile so she's finally getting to chase her dreams. And ya we should meet up and maybe all go out to dinner while we're out there in Great Lakes!

Sharon I finally got my first letter on Friday! She is doing great! What's up Jacob! Dang didn't think i would find someone else like me! It's tough not seeing your gf this long but once you realize that its for the best you put all the worries past you. My gf is SR Maria. I'll be out on the 14th as well! Then I go into bootcamp on July 18th so its going to suck.....luckily she is reserves so she can potentially get the same orders. What's the story with you and SR

Hi guys, My SR Amber will be doing A school at Great Lakes too. She cannot wait to see all of us at graduation, mainly her fiance the most I am sure. Your SR's are very luck to have supportive significant others backing them up. We plan on going to Sarge's meet and greet the night before PIR, maybe we will all see each other there. I just got Amber's second letter and sounds much more upbeat then the first one.

Sharon that's great! It would be nice if you, Jordan, and I could meet up sometime while we're out there! I'm sure she'll be very happy to see her fiance! I'm hoping to propose to my girlfriend soon after she gets back from A school and C school! I'm so proud of her! I've been writing her everyday just telling her about my day and keeping her up on current events. I hope to be getting her second letter tomorrow (Thursday) and maybe a call as well! She seemed to be liking boot camp when she sent out her first letter. Hope she's still liking it haha.

Some in division 177 got calls today! Keep your phones close!!!

I'm really hoping to get a call later today or tomorrow! I can't wait to hear her voice!

My SR said that she thinks they will get phone calls tomorrow wk2/day5. Keep your phones handy, other div are calling today. Will love to hear her voice as I am sure you guys will too!
