Hi everyone,

My son is in division 241 and I have recieved about 6 calls from him mostly for information regarding security clearance. I have missed some of his calls and feel extremely disappointed when I do. I am looking forward to graduation on 08/08/14 because I haven't seen my only child for about 2 months. He writes and call so I was able to feel at ease for most of the time. I miss him so much....can't wait to see him.

Good-luck to all the moms and enjoy graduation!!!!

Cece,
My son is graduating next Friday, too - and like you, I cannot wait to see him!
I don't know about you, but I'm already anticipating feeling really down when the weekend is over . . .  Unlike those long weeks he was away at camp or even when he returned to college and I could anticipate seeing him every month or so, it won't ever be that way again.  After PIR he'll be staying at Great Lakes for three more weeks, but then he's off to Florida - and who knows when he'll be able to come home . . .
Golly, sorry to be such a Debbie Downer!  It's just something that, amidst all the positive anticipation of graduation, suddenly hit me.
On an "up" note, I am thrilled that he seems to have found his future - in telephone calls, his voice is happy . . . and that truly makes me happy!
Thanks for "listening"!  :)
KC

I understand and you are not a Debbie Downer! All parents get like that sometimes. We may act tough on the outside, but deep down within, we are missing our kids tremendously. I wish them all the best and look forward to graduation. There is truly a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Good-luck, Cece!::))

Cece my son is in div 242, 241's brother division:) Congrats to our new sailors! Can't wait for the great 8/8! KC, my son is also staying at Great Lakes for 3 weeks and then going to Florida, is your son going to Mayport?

My son will be leaving early Saturday morning to Pensacola Florida. I really thought he was coming home for a week or so before going off to "A" school. I am so disappointed about that, but I know it is the Navy life and I need to start getting used to it.

It is really wonderful to be able to communicate with other moms. By the way, where is Mayport?

Congrats is definitely in order. They have worked so hard and in the end it does pay off.  I remember the first week when my son got there, he wrote me saying if he knew it was this hard, he wouldn't have joined. However, further in the letter, he stated "There is a very bright light at the end of the tunnel and I will not give up." He further stated that he wanted to be positive for me as I am always a positive mother. It brought tears to my eyes. I wish them all the best on this journey!!!!!!

Mayport is near Jacksonville.  My son (Div 817) is going to Panama City.

I think our sons learned a lot about themselves these past weeks that will be very important as they move on in their lives and their Navy careers - like never giving up no matter how hard things are.

Pensacola and Mayport will be fun places to visit!

Well looks like we all have something in common; We all have son's we love & miss very much and can't wait to see! Who are all going to Florida. So excited PIR is almost here! My son just called and we were only 4min's into the call when a RDC or someone came and told him something and he said I gotta go:/ There is so much we have to tell each other but not even close to enough time. We are leaving Tues driving from Cali, so I think once we leave I'll feel better, we'll be closer to seeing him and getting to talk for hours! Have a safe trip ladies, only 5 days til we can hug or sailors tight!

Have a safe trip - take care!
