N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

How is everyone doing?

It is great- agreed!   No orders yet- there may be a C school involved so that will probably add another month or so before getting the final, official billet and orders.  Ours did get approved for Christmas vacation- first time home since ship-out on July 8th.  Wild- can't wait.  To this day it's hard to see the bathroom unused and bedroom without their stuff- it did help though- we quickly converted into a little office/guest room.  Still ready to go when they get home but has been helpful when we try not to dwell on them being gone.

I got my DVD today! How funny we were all on the same page with wondering about the where abouts of this! What a cool Veterans Day Surprise! My daughter is still in A School. Will be there through the first of the year. Any of your family members have orders yet?

Thanks for everyone staying in touch- I've got a feeling we'll be using this site for years!

Good news- we received our FedEx package last night, as well.  No cruise book but then again I need to recheck what our sailor ordered.

Comment by Arlene21 on November 10, 2015 at 11:36pm

Yea it is good we are all on the same track.  funny though we did receive the DVD yesterday.  it came FedEx.  I guess we will keep waiting for the books

Comment by Dianemw on November 9, 2015 at 8:39pm

I think we all must be on the same track because I texted my son about it today. He said that he was told it takes a really long time. I guess it is a good sign if no one has gotten it yet. I was beginning to think we were the only ones.

Comment by Becky on November 9, 2015 at 8:31pm
Funny you asked about the DVD and cruise books I just text my sailor last night to see if she got it. I have yet to receive ours either. Guess I need to call the exchange?
Comment by DNavyFamily on November 9, 2015 at 11:09am

No- glad you asked!  I have our sailor's paperwork and photo package and will look for that receipt/contact them.

Has Anyone who's Sailor had PIR 9/04 received graduation DVD's or cruise books yet?
