~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thanks for all the suggestions made online. My daughter, granddaughter and I were able to make the trip to see our sailor and then spend a little time with him before his flight the following morning.  PIR was incredible.  I loved it.  He loves the Navy life so far, and I hope he always will.  We laughed at his stories.  He's a happy young man and was told to wipe that smile off his face, Basic was not his happy place!  But oddly enough, it was.  We saw changes in him and that he had gained 15 pounds, ladies!  That's a good thing!  He's always been on the slim side (since leaving his childhood).  He learned a great deal since September 5th when he left home.  He loved the people he was with in DIV 350.  It was great to be there for graduation and enjoyed the ceremony very much.  Best wishes to all and safe sailing in life are wished.  May the Lord be with each sailor and family!

diannep & CatMom509 ~ Thank You with all my heart for your advice, encouragement & support!  I'm still trying to adjust to being a Navy Mom vs a Boot Camp Mom LOL  I think it's still going to take some time.  This journey has been Far easier & better traveled with you ladies on it!  Thank you for your time and loving care!  I'll be following you around the site, but I just wanted to thank you before you left this area.  "Time waits for no man" and "moving on" is part of life, but this is still bitter-sweet.  God Bless you as you continue helping those in need of your tender guidance.  Thank you for being here for me & others!!  Dee  :-)

monicaT,

I am really glad you and your family, nor anyone else at the hotel was hurt!!  That is really freaky!!

I hope you purchased that extra daily insurance on the rental vehicle, so the rental agency will handle it.  Did the hotel call the police to have a police report taken or did they document the incident themselves?

Actually, I would be pretty specific on a TripAdvisor review.  People should know the exact nature of this incident and how management responded to help you (or not).

Otherwise, how was the rest of your stay at the Ramada?  We haven't has any recent feedback on this place~~
